Colts Not a Sure Bet – Broncos Odds May Offer Better Value

Smart Money Should Move to Denver After Broncos’ Performance in San Diego

After an amazing season, the Colts are an obvious Super Bowl favorite. There are other teams, though, that could just make it – and pay off even better if they do. After Mike Shanahan and his crew totally dismantled the Chargers in San Diego New Year’s Eve, the Broncos could be the best bet.

“You have to lay 10-11 if you want to take the Colts for the Super Bowl,” cautioned SportingbetUSA.com (www.sportingbetusa.com) Brand Manager Tony Delgado. “There may be better value elsewhere. A lot of SportingbetUSA players are watching to see how the Broncos do through the Divisional Championships this weekend.”

In their spectacular regular-season finale, Denver used a strong defensive effort and three Tatum Bell touchdowns to finish out the season with a 23-7 win over the San Diego Chargers. The Broncos (13-3) will have had a week off before playing in the divisional playoffs January 14.

SportingbetUSA.com’s adjusted lines for Saturday’s game (as of January 11, 2006) favor the Broncos at -3 with the Patriots at +3.

The other AFC teams had better fasten their chinstraps. This group is running to the ball with a purpose, and with Trevor Pryce, linebackers Wilson, Gold, Williams, as well as Champ Bailey and John Lynch they’re poised for a serious run at the championship.

Stopping the opponent’s offense has always been the issue around Denver, as everyone agrees that Shanahan is an offensive wizard. His defense always collapses down the stretch though, and this has been their Achilles heel.

“The Broncos finally have balance on both sides of the ball and that is bad news for the rest of the AFC! I’m just not comfortable with the way the Colts offense is performing these days,” said Delgado. “I think they will host the championship game on the 22nd, but I look for the Broncos to extract some serious revenge after last year’s debacle. I make it Denver 31 and Indianapolis 20 on January 22nd.”

Early Super Bowl lines at SportingbetUSA.com don’t give the Broncos much of a chance of even making it to Detroit in February. According to the odds, the two most likely match-ups are Seahawks vs Colts (9-5) and Bears vs Colts (4-1).
