Bluff Europe Super Tour 'Champion of Champions' Crowned in Paris Next Week

The top European players of 2010 meet at the ACF on 8th February to find out who really is the best of the B.E.S.T.

4 February 2011 (London, UK) -- Throughout 2010 Bluff Europe Magazine tracked the results from over 75 of Europe’s most prestigious tournaments, and the performance of thousands of poker players across the continent, in order to determine the Bluff Europe Super Tour (B.E.S.T.) Player of the Year. The best of the B.E.S.T. play 8th February in Paris to crown the Champion of Champions.

The Bluff Europe Super Tour comprises a special selection of £500-buy-in and above events. The ranking system is determined by a formula that considers the buy-in and the number of entrants in each tournament and only considers tournaments with real international stature. This forumula rewards skill over luck and determines, what the magazine feels, is the most accurate measure of tournament poker players in Europe.

Dutchman Paul Berende topped a ranking system that’s designed to reward consistency rather than one hit wonders, and Paul’s consistent deep finishes in large-field, high-buy-in tournaments were enough to seal the deal.

The top ten players of 2010 will converge on the Aviation Club de France in Paris for an all-star SNG tournament to determine the best of the B.E.S.T. The winner of the tournament will not only receive a seat at the WPT Paris Main Event, worth €5k, but also the trophy, a spot on the front cover of Bluff Europe and the title of Champion of Champions.

The SNG kicks off at 4pm at the ACF on 8th Feb, and, as well Berende, will include big players from countries across Europe, including Nicolas Levi, Emanuele Rugini, Per Linde, Matt Perrins, Craig McCorkell, Steven Van Zaddelhoff and James Mitchell.

Bluff Europe Editor Philip Conneller said, “2010 was the first year of the B.E.S.T. rankings and we feel that they’re the most equitable ranking system in Europe. They’re designed to reward consistency in difficult, high buy-in tournaments and we feel that’s the true mark of a great tournament player. The B.E.S.T Champion of Champions event is the exciting culmination of a fantastic year of European poker.”
