Malta is an amazing location for any event, but with its €500K GTD prize pool, the Malta Poker Festival has quickly become one of the most important poker events on the European poker circuit. The first of three satellite tournament series starts today and continues until the Final on Sunday. A second week-long series begins August 8 and a third starts August 26. The winners of each series will receive a $2500 prize package that includes buy-in to the Main Event, five nights luxurious accommodation at the Hilton (the only five-star resort on the island), $500 toward travel expenses and passes for the exclusive MPF VIP party.

The Malta Poker Festival begins October 30 at the Portomaso Casino. The final table will be played on Monday, November 4th. Last year Italian Emanuele Onnis defeated runner-up Fabian Gumz heads up to win the MPF Grand Event trophy and the €150,000 first place prize. The Grand Event attracted 1366 entries, creating a total prize pool of €662,510.

Right in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, Malta is known for superbly sunny weather, hot golden beaches, a thriving nightlife and more than 5000 years of history.
