IntertopsPoker.com Celebrates Winner in the Billionth Hand Promotion

Lady Luck Hits at Intertops.com for one Lucky Poker Player

The Intertops.com Lady Luck was well and truly on the side of a 27 year old Finnish poker enthusiast, Petteri S. as he sat playing Texas Hold 'em on IntertopsPoker.com, when his table was handed the honor of receiving the 1,000,000,000th played hand on the network.

Petteri S. instantly won a cash prize and free entries to all guaranteed tournaments for a whole day. And if that wasn’t enough, he also received free entry to a $250,000 guaranteed tournament.

Using his alias "T-Bone-Pete", Petteri S is a new comer to the world of poker and started playing at IntertopsPoker.com just two days previously.

Petteri S said “I have only been playing poker for six months. I never imagined that I could win so big, so quickly. I started playing with Intertops.com because of recommendations online. It’s a ´big house´ with a long history online, so I thought it must be reliable. I think the poker software is also one of the best online.”

The Billionth Hand promotion was yet another Player initiative from IntertopsPoker.com, the site offering the most satellites to land-based tournaments online. IntertopsPoker.com is part of the Microgaming Poker Network, which is the fastest growing poker network on the internet.

MaharajahClub.com Brings Online Gambling to India

MaharajahClub.com is set to widen its reach when play-for-fun only gaming site MaharajahClub.net goes live in India on November 1.

As the first online gaming site to specifically target the Asian market in the UK, Europe and South East Asia, Maharajah Club is ideally placed to make an impact in the up-and-coming market in India. The new US law making online gambling illegal is set to have an impact on the industry worldwide and as the focus switches to new markets, Maharajah Club will use its strong cultural relevancy and team of experts to make its mark in Asia.

India boasts one of the most rapidly growing economies in the world with highly educated affluent communities expanding at astronomical rates, a familiar environment for the gaming community. Poker is a very new recreation among India’s middle-classes and could follow other pop culture trends as an example of the way Indians strongly embrace western pastimes and passions.

As the first online gaming site to aim its launch towards the Asian market, MaharajahClub.net brings the fun side of gaming to India. Their new play-for-fun site will help grow the game on the continent by teaching first-timers how to play and increase poker’s widespread appeal among beginners and seasoned players alike.

Maharajah Club has already underpinned its commitment to India with its involvement in a Bollywood-based TV show and support for MahaCricket.com, a cricket website carrying news stories, latest stats and community news. This follows the news that Maharajah Club will be sponsoring the Asian Poker Classic (APC), which will be held at The Grand Resort in Goa, India from March 1-4 2007. The APC is the first major professional poker tournament to be held in India and will include players who have won $7,500 prize packages via satellite tournaments held at MaharajahClub.com.

Sachin Pawa, CEO of Maharajah Gaming, says, “This is the first time an online gaming company has targeted an audience based on ethnicity. It happens in land-based casino around the world. By targeting ethnically, we can cater to the culturally specific needs of our clients in a way that no other casino on the net can.”

Household Slots Tournament Adds Excitement

Husband and wife compete against each other on WebTV & computer

Logged on side-by-side – one on the household computer and the other using WebTV – a husband and wife team at Slotland.com has created their own household slots tournament. When players TOOTY and REENY34 go head to head, the jackpot prize -- picking a chore for the loser to do -- is better than cash they say.

“My wife and I have been pulling slots at Slotland.com for over seven years now,” said TOOTY, “But this month was special because we purchased a new computer and now we play in the same room, at the same time. I’m on WebTV because the TV screen is bigger and my wife is on the computer because she says it’s faster.”

The pair starts out with $100 each and they can choose whatever games they like. Every three hours, whoever has the most money picks one chore from a list of chores for the other to complete during their break.

In a recent after-dinner tournament, they each won $250 within twenty-five minutes hitting four of a kind at Jacks or Better – TOOTY twice on $5 bets and REENY34 just once but with a $10 bet. TOOTY later changed strategy when REENY34 took the lead and switched to placing max bets playing the Treasure Box slot machine.

“After three hours of competition, my wife had $900 in total wins and I had $700. I did the chore that night!”

“Many other online casinos don’t allow two members of the same household to open separate accounts,” said Hannah Morante of Slotland.com. “Which means Slotland.com is about the only place where you can enjoy head-to-head competitions.”

“Actually, they could have as many friends join them as they can fit in their living room,” reminds Slotland.com Mobile Gambling Manager, Martin Smith. “You can play our most popular slots on any mobile phone or PDA!”

America -- Intertops is Open for Business

Pioneering Online Gaming Site will Allow Americans to Play

Intertops announced today that they remain open for business and will accept all bets and process all payments from American citizens.

Developments in Washington, DC earlier this month compelled publicly-traded gaming sites such as 888.com and PartyPoker to cease all US services. All services at Intertops.com will seamlessly continue, offering sports betting, casino, poker and games.

Intertops commented, “We consider online gaming to be legal in most U.S. states and sanctioned by the World Trade Organization.”

“We are licensed and regulated in both Canada and Antigua and comply with every law within the jurisdictions in which we operate. We are dedicated to offering our worldwide customers a efficient and enjoyable service via our online sportsbook, casino, poker room and games. As a privately owned and independent company we have arranged to fully accept and disperse payments for US-based gamblers.”

After offering the world’s first online betting platform in 1996 and an online casino in 1997 Intertops.com started its poker room and games in 2003. Intertops will not only continue to serve its own customers but has made arrangements to accommodate an considerable amount of new customers that have lost their betting accounts due to the shut-down of many online gaming sites earlier this month.

Intertops added “Intertops has been in business for 23 years, 10 of them online. Our reputation as a responsible and trustworthy gaming site stands alone. We will continue to ensure that deposits and payouts are as quick and safe as they have always been.”

I-Gaming Industry Unites at EiG in Barcelona

Over 1,050 i-gaming professionals from 42 countries converged last week in Barcelona for the European i-gaming Congress and Expo (EiG). At this, the biggest EiG to date, the general feeling was that there has never been a more important time for the i-gaming industry to come together and speak with one voice.

EiG opened with a message that both surprised and touched the packed conference room. David Carruthers, former CEO of BetonSports, spoke via video from his residence in St Louis, USA. Carruthers couldn’t speak about his upcoming legal battle but said he was "strong, fit and in high spirits" and is "preparing for the final outcome of his nightmare." He thanked the industry for its support.

EiG, produced by ATE and River City Group which are divisions of Clarion Events, is the first major i-gaming gathering since the arrests which have rocked the industry and sent i-gaming share prices plummeting.

After the video, Norbett Teufelberger, co-CEO of Bwin spoke rousingly about his experience of being held by the French authorities. "We have been treated as criminals," he stated. He called on the industry to put aside their usual competitive stance to unite and fight together to defend the besieged industry.

The conference programme spanned three days, featuring many more of the biggest names in the industry. Sessions of particular interest included the Monopoly Debate, which brought together state and private operators, including the CEOs of Norsk Tipping and Ladbrokes Nordic, in a frank discussion. The session attendees were also very interested in the news that the European Commission had that day decided to question France, Italy and Austria about their cross-border gambling legislation. The session on USA concerns also drew much interest, with worrying information on the ease with which UK nationals can be extradited to the US.

Running alongside the conference was a 46-stand exhibition showcasing numerous new products and services for the i-gaming industry. Feedback from the exhibitors was extremely positive, with several reporting multiple deals being signed over the three days.

On Friday the 13th, the last day of the Congress, President Bush signed and passed into law the “Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act 2006” which criminalises online gambling firms operating in the US. The general consensus was that this was a sad day for US consumer choice.

The conference sessions closed with a flourish, with a CEO panel that included Mitch Garber of PartyGaming and John Anderson of 888.com. Considering the events of the last couple of weeks, all were impressed by their commitment to sharing their thoughts with the industry.

Whilst all being positive about the future of the industry, the panel warned against the smaller private operators not taking the new law seriously, with Garber concluding “I think it's very brave of private company operators to think that they're not going to be next to be indicted, arrested and pursued.”

Interesting times indeed for an industry that includes some of the most entrepreneurial minds in the business world.

America Has Been Fristed

Black Friday the 13th for Online Gambling in the U.S.

I don’t often write editorial comment specifically for my blog. If you received this story by RSS, sorry for sending you a rant instead of online casino news. Most of the stories here are from news releases and interesting stories that I’ve found surfing online gambling news. But events that have rocked the online gambling business over the last two weeks move me to come out of the cyber-woodwork and comment on how furious I am about the new anti-gambling laws that have been passed in the United States.

The way this backhanded legislation was pushed through in the middle of the night of the last night of a session, and tacked on to some other bill that everyone was automatically voting for, is disgusting. America has been Fristed. I can’t wait for the backlash from online poker players and sports bettors when they realize that they are no longer allowed to choose those kinds of entertainment! Pleeeeease tell me that right-wing fundamentalist control-freeks are not the majority in America.

I had the pleasure of coordinating Aces.com’s movie sponsorship publicity this summer and have run lots of stories about that here and on my other blog. Aces was part of Sportingbet Plc and has just been purchased by another group. We may not hear much from them for a little while…

There’s also lots of Slotland.com stories here. Slotland.com’s players are mostly European, so that softens the blow of the new US legislation. Watch for ongoing stories, especially about mobile gambling.

MaharajahClub.com is a casino for Indians outside India that’s doing a million dollar poker tournament in Goa, India next year. I’ll be following that. I’ll also be publishing stories from Intertops, WireCard and Orbis.

I hope that Americans that enjoy online gambling – and there are millions and millions of you – will be very vocal and protest what is happening. I hope you continue to play just as long as Neteller and your credit card company will allow you to. (As I understand it, unless Neteller stands up to the U.S. and refuses to comply with that “foreign” legislation, that’s till next summer.) But what I really hope is that this Bill that infringes so blatantly on your right to choose your own entertainment will be overturned somehow.

Don’t worry. When you’re allowed to play poker and casino games again, they’ll still be there. Europeans, Asians and South Americans will keep them busy till you come back. Until then, maybe learn to knit… Go for a walk… ;)

New European Roulette Improves Players’ Odds

No 00 in French version of Aces.com’s new instant-play casino game

Aces.com ’s newest game – European Roulette – improves players’ odds by eliminating the extra zero added to the American version of “The Game of Kings”. The game is one of the popular online casino’s new instant play Flash games that require no downloading or installation.

“Why would we add a game that pays more winnings than the one we had?!” laughed Rene Quesada, Manager of Aces.com. “Because if they play it in Vegas, we’ve got it at Aces.com. Simple as that. European Roulette is increasingly popular on the Strip these days so we’ve got to have it at Aces.”

The first form of Roulette, invented in the seventeenth century by mathematician Blasé Pascal, had no zeros. Early Monte Carlo casino operators added the zero to improve the house odds. When the game arrived in the U.S., Americans added the double-zero to give the ball one more place to land and thus improve the house’s chances even further.

There are two other differences between the European and American games. In American Roulette, each player has their own color of chips, all worth the same value. Standard casino chips of differing values are used in the European game. Also, the European table is much larger than the American version, so the European croupier uses a rake to clear chips while their American counterpart does this by hand. Of course, Aces.com’s cyber-croupier just clears the board with a click.

Aces.com offers online gamblers all the betting opportunities they have in Las Vegas: casino games, poker, sports betting and horse racing. Later this month, the Vegas-style online casino will be adding three more games to its comprehensive suite of table and card games.

First mobile slot machine provider nominated in “Best Mobile Operator of the Year” Category

The first company to launch real-money slot machines for mobile phones and PDAs is once again being recognized for its pioneering efforts in the new and rapidly developing mobile gambling arena. Slotland.com, best known for it’s large and frequently hit jackpots and attentive customer service, has been nominated in the “Best Mobile Operator of the Year” category of the prestigious annual eGaming Review Awards.

Slotland.com, which celebrated its eighth anniversary online this summer, launched its first mobile phone game a year ago and has been adding original new slot machines to its mobile gambling suite ever since. With thirteen unique slot machines on their web site and three available on mobile phones and PDAs, Slotland.com is one of the world’s most innovative and trustworthy online casinos.

“Eight years of experience in providing online entertainment has taught us that players like new, original games,” said Slotland.com Mobile Gambling Manager Martin Smith. “We develop our own games – you won’t see our slot machines anywhere but Slotland.”

At a gala ceremony in London on October 9th, eGaming Review Magazine will present awards in sixteen categories, recognising achievements from all corners of the egaming industry. Each award will be judged by an impartial panel of industry experts.

The “Best Mobile Operator of the Year” award will be presented to a company that excelled in the mobile sector, including casino, poker, sports betting and soft game operators. It will assess only the mobile service offered and will not take into consideration online support.

Slotland.com was recently voted “Most Unique Slot Site” and “Best Progressive Jackpot Site” by Strictly Slots Magazine readers and was named “Best Web TV” in a Gambling Online Magazine poll. The company was a finalist in the “Mobile Gambling Company” category of the ME Awards presented last month in London.

GameAccount Re-invents Blackjack

Multiplayer Blackjack Tournaments for the Poker Generation

GameAccount, the world’s largest provider of person-to-person (P2P) games this week introduced Multiplayer Blackjack, a unique skill-based version of the casino classic. Players rely on their card-counting skills and mastery of strategic play to outwit their opponents in real-time multiplayer tournaments.

GameAccount, short-listed for two 2006 eGaming Review Awards, has rolled out next-generation tournaments for all multiplayer games including Gin Rummy, Backgammon and Multiplayer Blackjack, a world first for any P2P games service provider. Players in the GameAccount Network can now compete online in professional tournament formats popularised by online poker operators.

GameAccount’s browser-based Multiplayer Blackjack allows players to play live and in real-time against up to five online opponents simultaneously, never directly against the ‘House’. Starting with an imaginary chip stack of $1,000 the objective is to build a larger chip stack than your opponent over ten rounds of cards dealt to both players and the automated in-game dealer. Using a 4-deck shoe of cards and no auto-shuffler, Multiplayer Blackjack openly encourages optimal strategic play and card-counting unlike conventional casino blackjack. This demonstrates GameAccount’s philosophy to empower players with a serious alternative to existing forms of casino blackjack where over time players can never defeat the traditional ‘House’ edge.

Kevin Dale, CEO of GameAccount commented, “Multiplayer Blackjack marks another leap forward in adapting recognisable casino products to encourage skilful game play without losing the aura or excitement of the original. We also provide the industry-standard guaranteed prize money tournaments that make Poker such an exciting offering. We see this as the future of Skill Gaming: Skill, with a bit of luck.”

As the leading provider of person-to-person games to sportsbook, casino and poker operators GameAccount offers a real solution to operators looking to generate incremental extra revenues from new, existing and lapsed customers. The suite of game products have been bolstered by next generation tournament technology: Cash Games; Non-stop ‘Sit and Go’ tournaments, money-added scheduled tournaments; guaranteed prize money tournaments; feeder tournaments and regular scheduled Freeroll tournaments. Millions of dollars, pounds and euros are paid out to players within the GameAccount Network each and every month.

“Our exciting new lobby-based tournaments go hand-in-hand with our expanding product portfolio – one simply can’t exist without the other. Scheduled tournaments are a must-have for both us and our blue-chip partners, allowing branded tailor-made tournaments exclusive to certain operators as well as offline tournaments fed by online satellites. We see serious potential for both Gin Rummy, Backgammon and Blackjack tournaments in the near future. Our Backgammon product is already being featured on TV in the UK on the PokerZone channel.”, added Mr. Dale.

Hollywood Loves Poker

Top Ten Poker Movies of All Time
Hollywood has long known a high stakes poker table is a powder keg of dramatic potential. Aces.com’s sexy new poker flick, Aces the Movie, is the latest in a long line of poker classics. The popular online casino is celebrating the DVD release of Aces the Movie -- dubbed “the Charlie’s Angels of Poker” at the WSOP this summer -- with a gala star-studded event in Beverly Hills next week. Hundreds of L.A.-area Aces.com players will attend the event – five of them flown in from all over the U.S. on VIP tournament prize packages.

The recently re-designed Aces.com site features a tribute to Hollywood’s love for poker. The Top Ten Poker Movies of All Time has concise reviews of the poker classics.

Matt Damon revived the poker movie genre in Rounders (1998), but Hollywood has been fascinated by poker and poker culture since Hopalong Cassidy saved the day by posing as a newbie poker player in Sunset Trail (1939),and Gene Autry starred in the classic poker murder mystery, Loaded Pistols (1948). In Maverick (1994), Mel Gibson and Jody Foster needed $3000 dollars to enter a winner takes all poker tournament. California Split (1974) directed by Robert Altman (M*A*S*H) and starring George Segal & Elliot Gould, showed the day-to-day life of card-playing, sports-betting, sleep-till-noon gamblers. Like the main character in Aces the Movie, the heroine in Big Hand for a Little Lady (1966) had never played poker before she sat down to the big table. Steve McQueen manages to get into the highest stakes game of his life in what most consider to be the ultimate poker classic, The Cincinnati Kid (1965).

“Poker isn’t just about rules and strategy,” said Aces.com Manager Rene Quesada. “It’s a culture. With so many people playing poker online now, it’s a lifestyle that millions dream about.”

The retro Vegas-style online gambling site has sponsored and promoted ‘Aces the Movie’ all summer. Thousands of free DVDs have been given to new players and awarded as contest and tournament prizes.

Free Roll Champ Latest to Win Hollywood Movie Premiere Trip

Texas Hold ‘Em Free Roll Winner to Attend Gala ‘Aces the Movie’ DVD Release Party

Last week’s Wednesday night Texas Hold’Em Free Roll winner is just the latest Aces.com free poker tournament champion to win a VIP trip to Los Angeles to attend the Vegas-style site’s Hollywood Movie Premiere Party. Terry W. of Alabama won the tournament and the all-expense paid trip last Wednesday joining four previous VIP prize package winners.

“I’ve played in the Wednesday free roll a few times before,” said Terry. “They usually have some sort of special prize. But it was well into the tournament that I even realized that there was a big trip up for grabs this time!”

The prize package includes airfare and hotel accommodation for the tournament winner and a guest. They’ll be flown to Los Angeles for the Aces.com star-studded gala celebrating the DVD release of the movie they’ve sponsored and promoted this summer. “Aces the Movie” is a sexy new poker movie about three beautiful but cunning college students that devise a high tech scheme for winning on the underground card room circuit of Las Vegas. When they’re caught by a ruthless high roller, they find themselves in Rio de Janeiro playing the game of their lives.

Christina Morris, star of “Aces the Movie”, will attend the Aces.com Hollywood party as will director/producer Daniel Zirilli.

“The last time I partied with Daniel was in Las Vegas this summer when Aces.com took us all there for the WSOP,” said Morris. “This DVD release party has been a long time in coming. I hope he’s recharged his batteries since Vegas ‘cause I sure have!”

VIP Hollywood Movie Premiere prize packages have also been awarded to four other Aces.com free tournament winners.
Steve M. of San Ramon, California won his trip in a Free Roll Tournament in July. Russell D. of Pennsylvania won the same tournament in August, as did Brian B. of Miami in September. Brad K. of California won Aces.com’s weeklong Three Card Poker Tournament earlier this month

“Brad will get his VIP Movie Premiere Party pass all right,” said Aces.com Manager Rene Quesada. “But for his all expense paid trip from Orange County to Hollywood I think we’ll get him a limo rather than a plane ticket!”

Free tournament winners aren’t the only Aces.com players attending the gala event on October 7th. Hundreds of Los Angeles area Aces.com players have received invitations to the soiree.

“We’re not flying them all in and putting them up at a fancy hotel like the tournament winners,” said Quesada, “But we’ve got celebrity party planner Alex Quinn organizing the event for us. Everyone’s going to feel like a movie star!”

Known more and more for celebrity events and free tournaments, Aces.com offers gamblers everything they enjoy in Las Vegas: casino games, sports betting, poker and horse racing.

Three Card Poker Champ Wins Trip to Poker Movie Premiere

Aces.com Player Will Attend Hollywood Party for ‘Aces the Movie’

The winner of last week’s Three Card Poker Tournament at Aces.com will be one of the most excited VIP guests at the Vegas-style site’s Hollywood Premiere next month. Brad K. won the free poker tournament and will receive airfare and hotel accommodation to attend the celebrity event in Los Angeles October 7th.

Brad won the VIP Hollywood Party Package by having the highest chip count at the end of the weeklong online tournament. Like many Three Card Poker players, Brad just plays the easier game as a break from Texas Hold’Em.

“Three Card is popular in Vegas and I tried it last time I was there,” says the free tournament winner. “I mostly play Hold’Em buy when it’s time for something a little less intense, I often play a few hands of Three Card. But believe me, the final hours of this tournament – with that prize in reach – that was definitely intense!”

The tournament champion will be flown to Los Angeles to attend the Aces.com Hollywood Movie Premiere, a celebration of the release of the DVD of the movie Aces.com has sponsored and promoted all summer. Organized by celebrity party planner Alex Quinn, son of Academy Award winning actor Anthony Quinn, the Aces.com party is expected to attract an A-list crowd.

“There’s a few of our players that have won all-expense-paid trips to the party,” said Aces.com Manager Rene Quesada, “But we’ve also sent invitations to hundreds of our players in the Los Angeles area.”

‘Aces the Movie’ is a sexy new poker movie about three gorgeous college students that devise a high tech scheme for cheating their way through the underground card rooms of Las Vegas. The stars of the movie have hosted weekly free roll tournaments at Aces.com through the summer, and Aces.com Manager Quesada took them to Las Vegas for the WSOP. Slotland.com Honoured at Mobile Entertainment Awards in London Tonight

Pioneering web site – the first to launch real-money slots for mobile phones – finalist in Best Gambling Company category

At a gala awards banquet in London tomorrow night, one of the world’s oldest gambling websites is being honoured as one of the first to offer real-money gambling for mobile phones and PDAs. Slotland.com, which just celebrated its eighth anniversary online, launched its first mobile phone game a year ago and has been adding original new slot machines to its mobile gambling suite ever since. The company is one of five finalists in the “Best Gambling Company” category of the inaugural ME Awards.

Slotland.com has committed itself to developing innovative, original games – no small feat for the relatively small company. It is also dedicated to providing customer service with a human touch.

“One thing we know from eight years online is that players like to try new games,” said Martin Smith, Slotland.com’s Mobile Games Manager, “And that they don’t want to see the same games they’ve seen at a dozen other sites.”

“We are excited to be one of the pioneers of mobile gambling and strive to emerge as one of the leaders in mobile games in terms of quality and uniqueness of our games, customer service, security and banking, as opposed to sheer quantity of games and services,” continued Smith. “This has always been our goal in the web-based gaming and we are sticking to it in the mobile games arena as well.”

“Some online casinos just think about being as cost-effective as possible and forget that their players are people – humans,” said Hannah Morante of Slotland.com. “We think communication with our members should be personal, not fulfilled by some external customer service that doesn’t care.”

The first annual Mobile Entertainment (ME) Awards are produced by Mobile Entertainment Magazine to honour excellence among those that provide content for mobile devices. The award for Best Gambling Company will be given to a company that has created a downloadable gambling game or set up a server platform for handling billing and player registrations – or both. Other categories, such as Best Adult Services Company, Best Music Label, and Best Video & TV Service Provider show that on the new mobile entertainment platform content is king. However, the list of awards also includes Best Handset Company and Best Payment/Billing Provider.

Slotland.com was voted “Most Unique Slot Site” and “Best Progressive Jackpot Site” by Strictly Slots Magazine readers and was named “Best Web TV” in a Gambling Online Magazine poll.

Juniper Research estimates the current mobile gambling market to be worth approximately $315 million worldwide and forecasts that the mobile gambling sector will be worth up to $16.6 billion by 2008. Experts predict that by then more than 450 million wireless subscribers will be playing some form of mobile games and that four out of five mobile users – 200 million people in Western Europe and the U.S. -- will be playing internet games on their phones. The Asia-Pacific region currently hosts 70 million mobile gamers with wireless gaming revenues totalling $1.1 billion.

There is no entry fee for these free tournaments. Winners are the three players with the highest chip count at the close of the tournament.

Aces.com free tournaments tend to attract primarily regulars of the retro Vegas-style casino site, but new players are always welcome to enjoy the camaraderie at an Aces table.

“Over the summer, we’ve had the stars of Aces the Movie as special guests at our tournaments,” says Rene Quesada, Manager of Aces.com. “The other night, one of our regulars was pretty sure he was going to win until Lacey got a bunch of good cards, made some smart bets and left him in second place. So I sent him a silk poker shirt just for being such a fun guy that night.”

Lacey Toups plays one of the three sexy college girls in the hot new poker movie that Aces.com is involved with this summer. Aces.com is distributing thousands of free copies of ACES the Movie to their players. Christina Morris and Sheena Chou are the other two members of the team dubbed “The Charlie’s Angels of Poker” when they partied with Aces.com at the WSOP last month. (Details on the actresses’ blog.

Pioneering Slots Site Known for Service Celebrates 8th Anniversary Online

When Slotland.com launched their first online slot machines in 1998, the Internet was new and online gaming was in its infancy. Eight years later, the pioneering site is still one of the most popular and trusted online casinos and is one of the first to venture into the new mobile gambling frontier.

Although technical advances over the years have made things like payment processing simpler and more secure, Slotland.com still offers the same simple, safe and friendly environment that players, especially older players, are comfortable with.

“Technology has changed a lot, but the way we approach our business has stayed the same,” says Hannah Morante of Slotland.com. “We keep it simple -- our games are easy to use, no downloading. And we treat our customers with the human touch.”

Over the years, Slotland.com has created nine unique slot machines – some that offer simple fun to newbies and some with more complex strategies for experienced slots aficionados.

“Some online casinos use more technologies and just think about how to make their business as cost-effective as possible but forget that their players are people – humans. We think communication with our members should be personal, not fulfilled by some external customer service that doesn’t care,” said Morante.

Slotland.com was voted “Most Unique Slot Site” and “Best Progressive Jackpot Site” by Strictly Slots Magazine readers and was named “Best Web TV” in a Gambling Online Magazine poll. They were recently selected as a finalist in the “Best Mobile Gambling Company” category of the ME (Mobile Entertainment) Awards to be given in London this month.

Asked why they’ve stuck with Slotland.com over the years, players mention Slotland’s warm customer service and quick payouts, and they love how long they can play with just a few dollars, but mostly they talk about fun:

“I love to watch the wheels go round almost as much as I like winning!” JAZZY60, USA

“Slotland’s games are definitely original and are by far the best and clearest to be played. Fast loading and easiest games to play with great payouts!! I love the bonus spin features on magic and golden 8!!!" FRANK35

“I have been around for 70 odd years now and have played in too many places.... Slotland's people have always gone the extra distance to accommodate.” GEORGIE1874

“I've been to Atlantic City and Harrah’s Casino in North Carolina and I lost my shirt – and didn’t have near as much fun as I have with SLOTLAND!" GNAT

”I appreciate the professionalism of your casino. Everything is first class. Then to top if off the games are so much fun to play!" NANA122

"I always win enough to keep me playing for a good while.” REELPLAYER

When Slotland went online mobile phones were relatively rare and certainly no one was thinking about using them to play slot machines. Difficult as it may be to predict the future in this fast-changing entertainment business, Martin Smith, Slotland’s Manager of Mobile Games, is excited about what’s to come.

“It’s a whole different generation of players that uses their mobile for entertainment. There’s millions of future slots players out there who’ve yet to make their first spin!”” said Smith. “And as the mobile platform adapts more standards we’ll be able to design more and more exciting mobile games.”

“One thing we know is that although slots players may have their favourites they also have an insatiable appetite for new games,” adds Morante, “I predict we’ll always have Lucky Stars – but I can’t even imagine what our games developers have up their sleeves for our next eight years!”

“There’s always a nice cash prize, and some great bonus stuff – like the silk shirt that everyone seems to want,” says Aces.com Manager Rene Quesada. “But we often have extra special prizes, like the time we sent the Wednesday winner to the Radio Music Awards in Las Vegas, or when the champion won a trip to the MLB All Stars Game. This month, it’s VIP passes to our Hollywood party!”

It’ll be great to have them all together again in Hollywood!”

They're only going to become more exclusive and the talk of the town. AQ Presents = tres sass to the millionth degree."

New Season of Reality TV Betting

Fall is here and with the new reality TV season getting into full swing, bettors are salivating at the chance to place their bets on their favorite stars and shows. Whether it’s Rock Star: SUPERNOVA, Dancing With the Stars, Survivor, Amazing Race or American Idol, everybody bets on reality TV – from the producers and networks, hoping their show is a ratings hit, to the fans who phone in their votes and wager on the outcome. Sportsbook.com, the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino and the online pioneer in offering odds on reality TV, has this season’s slate of shows covered.

“Everyone thought reality TV was just an annoying fad when the original Survivor launched years ago, but the shows keep getting better, audiences larger and the concepts more entertaining,” said Alex Czajkowski, Sportsbook.com. “Reality TV is huge business for the networks, advertisers, sponsors and for the betting industry as well. It’s possible that we’ll take in more bets this year on television shows than we have in all previous years combined.”

Rock Star: SUPERNOVA

Lukas Rossi is the front runner to become the front man for SUPERNOVA. The punk rocker is a 10-11 bet to capture the coveted role of leading a band that includes legends Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted and Gilby Clarke. Despite a luke-warm fan response and a bottom three finish last week, Toby Rand remains a strong contender to get behind the mic and sits at 7-5 odds. Controversial Dilana Robichaux continues to get under the skin of her peers – and is starting to aggravate the judges… but so far the leading female is still in the good books with voters and is a 3-1 bet.

Rock Star: SUPERNOVA - Odds to win

Lukas Rossi 10-11
Toby Rand 7-5
Dilana Robichaux 3-1
Magni Asgeirsson 3-1
Ryan Star 4-1
Storm Large 10-1

Dancing with the Stars

The stars are about to take the stage! Professional dancers are going to be tasked with helping footwork challenged musicians, actors, talk show hosts and former professional athletes become proficient ballroom performance dancers. The season three line-up features 11 dancers, more than ever before.

Saved By the Bell beefcake Mario Lopez is the current leader to get his steps down with odds of 3-1. Hollywood siren Vivica Fox will channel her choreography skills from Kill Bill to get in time with partner Nick Kosovich. Fox is currently Lopez’s biggest challenger at 4-1. Pulling up the rear is Jerrry Springer. Running out of the way of chair wielding guests didn’t earn him much credibility as a dancer, the former talk show host is a 30-1 bet to win the competition.

Beginning September 12th, Dancing with the Stars will air on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

Dancing With The Stars 3 - Odds to Win

Mario Lopez 3-1
Vivica Fox 4-1
Monique Coleman 11-2
Joey Lawrence 6-1
Harry Hamlin 6-1
Willa Ford 8-1
Sara Evans 8-1
Emmitt Smith 15-1
Shanna Moakler 15-1
Tucker Carlson 18-1
Jerry Springer 30-1

Survivor Cook Islands

Jeff Probst is ready to snuff out some more torches. The eleventh season of Survivor is about to get underway. Sportsbook.com is offering odds of whether the sole survivor will be a man or a woman and bets for each currently sit at 5-6. In the past ten Survivor seasons five women and five men have won the competition. The rubber match begins Thursday, September 14th in the Cook Islands and can be seen on CBS at 8pm ET.

Survivor – Odds to Win

Male 5-6
Female 5-6

Amazing Race

Ready for your pit stop? The Emmy Award winning Amazing Race is in its ninth season and odds makers at Sportsbook.com have betting options ready. Past winners include three married couples and four sets of best friends who are male. Currently a male/female pair is a 13-10 bet and a male team is 11-10. The current long shot is a female team at 3-2.

The season will launch with a special 90-minute premiere on September 17, 2006 at 8:30pm ET on CBS.

She was followed by Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Hicks. The odds for a male or female winning the top spot each stand at 10-11.

Hip Hop Star Domino Makes Cameo Appearance in Aces.com’s Sexy New Poker Movie

Domino was one of several hip-hop celebrities to sit down at the final table in ACES, the new poker movie sponsored by online casino Aces.com. Hollywood director Daniel Zirilli brought in old pal and platinum recording artist Domino for the roll. Scott Kusmirek, drummer for the platinum-selling rock group, the Gin Blossoms, also played a cameo role in the sexy poker movie.

Aces.com is no stranger to the music industry. Snoop Dog and other stars at the Radio Music Awards in Vegas hung out at Aces.com’s backstage poker table. One of them even ended up winning $32K playing cards with the free money Aces.com had put in their account.

“This movie is full of great music,” said Rene Quesada, Aces.com’s Manager. “It’s cool they got these hip hop stars to play in the high stakes game in Rio at the end. Talk about poker faces…”

Domino's Sweet Potatoe Pie was a pop and R&B hit from his self-titled 1993 debut LP. Three years later, Domino delivered his less successful second album, Physical Funk. Dominology followed in 1997. D-Freaked It marked his long-awaited follow-up in summer 2001.

Zirilli has directed three music videos for Domino including Money is Everything, Long Beach Thing and his first number one platinum hit Ghetto Jam which quickly became the number one MTV music video in the world at the time.

Zirilli founded PopArt Film Factory in 1990, and has directed and produced over two hundred music videos for artists including The Rolling Stones, Redman, Scarface, Master P, Najee, Cypress Hill, and recent Oscar winners Three 6 Mafia.

What happens in Vegas, happens at Aces.com where online gamblers can find ALL the gambling options they enjoy in Las Vegas: casino games, poker, sports betting and horses. New players each receive a free copy of the ACES the Movie DVD.

Venerable Vegas Site Gets New Games & Poker School in Makeover

After millions of games and billions in wagers, Aces.com launched a new and improved site this week. The long-popular online casino with the easy-to-remember name is keeping its retro Vegas look and feel, and still offers every kind of gambling found on The Strip, but has added new instant-play games and a new Poker School & Casino School for newbies.

“Most of our players are old school gamblers. They like Vegas.” said Aces.com Manager Rene Quesada, “So we’re keeping a re-vamped ‘rat pack’ look and we still offer everything Vegas offers: casino games, poker, horses and sports betting. We just modernized our games – new instant-play Flash games that don’t require downloading or installation – and we’ve added a lot more resources, especially for inexperienced players.”

Most casino and poker sites have the basic rules of their games buried somewhere on their site, but the new Aces.com Casino School and Poker School provide more thorough and easier-to-understand explanations of both game play and betting procedures than most. The Aces.com Sportsbook and Horsebook both feature easy-to-understand animated tutorials and there’s even a Texas Hold ‘Em video tutorial by the star of the new poker movie Aces.com is sponsoring.

“Aces.com has been around since 1998 and a lot of our players are experienced gamblers that have been playing with us for years,” said Quesada, “But, especially with this summer’s movie promotion, we’re seeing more and more new players that want to play but need a little help with how to bet, especially in one of the most popular games, Texas Hold ’Em.”

As the sponsor of ACES the Movie, Aces.com is sending all new players a copy of the sexy new movie about three beautiful young women that take on the underground card rooms of Las Vegas. The new site features clips and photos from the movie in addition to the Texas Hold ’Em video tutorial with the movie’s star, Lacey Toups.

Like Las Vegas, Aces.com attracts a lot of celebrities so players never know when they’re going to be playing against a movie star or rock icon. Snoop Dogg, Lance Bass, Deborah Gibson, Lauren Holly all have accounts at Aces.com. Wednesday night tournaments are frequently hosted by the stars of Aces the Movie.

No fly-by-night operation, Aces.com is part of Sportingbet Plc, the world’s biggest online gambling company. Known and trusted for years, Aces.com has a reputation for quick payouts, exemplary customer service and generous bonuses and promotions.

Beginner's Luck

New Player Wins $116,828 Slotland.com Jackpot

A new player has hit the sixth major jackpot of the year at Slotland.com. “Iringion” of Massachusetts won $116,828 playing the popular Wild Heart slot machine at the world’s most popular slots site.

“I wasn’t even a real slots fan before this,” said the excited winner. “I used to prefer online poker and other card games, but after this experience you can be sure I love spinning slots now!”

“Some people think you have to play slots a lot before you win anything,” said Hannah Morante of Slotland.com, “But this beginner winning a very big jackpot after playing such a short time shows that anyone can win any time.”

“Iringion” decided to try out Slotland’s unique games when he realized that several are, in fact, card games.

“I’ve found the Slotland card games to be quite loose,” said the winner. “I just figured that there are more slots and players probably play the slots more often than the card games, which is why I see so many slot machine jackpots. I did recall Striking Sevens hitting recently, so I really was not expecting the jackpot by playing the card games! “

On his winning session, Slotland’s most recent progressive jackpot winner knew he’d really hit a groove of nice paying hands when he saw a couple of straight flushes and several four of a kinds land in his lap while playing Jacks or Better. When he switched to Wild Hearts, it was slow at first and he was down $600. Then he was dealt three Wild Royal Flushes for an automatic $1,500 win – and there were still two wild cards in each deck. Agonizing for a moment about whether or not to take the guaranteed $1500 or go for the glory, with a progressive jackpot or over $116,000 luring him to give it a try, he trusted his decision to a flip of a coin.

“When the cards came up, I will never forget seeing that beloved jack of diamonds fall on the bottom line!” recalls the winner of his winning hand. “And can you believe it? I also DID get another wild card on the middle line! Kind of like extra frosting on an amazing cake!”

“Our jackpots get hit so often – usually every six weeks or so – and for such large amounts, you’d think we’d get used to hearing about yet another big winner,” said Hannah Morante of Slotland.com. “But the whole office always gets excited whenever a players has this kind of good luck!”

Asked what he plans to do with his big win, the winner said he still hasn’t calmed down enough to think that far. “I never expected it to be me to win the jackpot, so I never really thought very hard about what to do with so much money. But don't worry I am sure I will figure it out!”

Motorola Razr Best Phone for Mobile Gambling Says Games Pioneer Slotland.com

Have you played casino games on your cell phone yet?!

Mobile gambling is exploding just like online gambling did, and games developers at Slotland.com – recently named one of the best mobile gambling companies in the world -- say the Motorola Razr is one of the best mobile phones for mobile casino games.

“The large screen on the Motorola Razr makes it an obvious choice for mobile gambling,” said Martin Smith, Slotland.com’s Mobile Games Manager, “But it is also one of the most technically advanced mobile phones and supports Java better than most. And Java is what makes our real-money slot machines work on a phone or PDA.”

The mobile platform isn’t like the Internet. There are no standards and inconsistencies among mobile phone brands have slowed development. Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola -- everyone develops their own solutions as they go along. That means mobile entertainment providers like Slotland.com have to design versions of every game for every different phone brand. If they could choose one phone as the standard, it would be the Motorola Razr.

Despite the challenges of pioneering new technology, Slotland.com/mobile manages to add a new mobile slot machine every six weeks or so. Coincidently, that’s about as often as Slotland’s huge Progressive Jackpot is hit.

“We’re not playing for quarters here,” laughs Smith. “The jackpots on our mobile games are tied in to the jackpots online and part of that huge prize pool. We had a player recently that won $163K spinning slots on his mobile phone!”

Technical challenges may be slowing the pace to a run, but it seems that no technical difficulty will deter the increasingly popular mobile entertainment platform from being just as big a pop-cultural phenomenon as the Internet. Analysts predict big things for mobile gambling. It's just the scale of bigness they disagree on. Informa estimates the current mobile gambling market to be worth about $1.2 billion and predicts it to reach $7.6 billion by 2010. Mintel forecasts the business will grow to $3 billion in the U.S. alone by 2009. Juniper expects nearly $20 billion worldwide by then.

Recognizing the company’s commitment to unique games and exemplary customer service, Slotland.com was recently named as one of five finalists in the inaugural ME Awards for mobile entertainment “Best Gambling Company” category.

Mobile players can access Slotland.com slot machines from their mobile phone or PDA by logging on at wap.Slotland.com. Information about mobile gambling is online at www.Slotland.com/mobile. Players can make deposits and withdrawals from either their phone or computer.

Web Slots Site Finalist in Mobile Entertainment Awards

ME Awards nomination recognizes Slotland.com’s pioneering contribution to mobile gambling

The world’s most popular slot machine web site has been selected as one of five finalists in the ME Awards “Best Mobile Gambling” category. Slotland.com began offering their popular online games on mobile phones and PDAs last September and is already recognized as a leader in the new field of mobile gambling.

Mobile Entertainment Magazine, which produces the Mobile Entertainment (ME) Awards to honour excellence among those that provide content for mobile devices, announced this week that Slotland.com has been short listed by a group of industry experts as one of the top five mobile gambling providers in the world. The winner will be announced at a gala reception in London, UK September 19, 2006.

If you’re under thirty-five, and especially if you’re North American and/or female, you might think of that Nokia the kids talked you into buying as merely a phone. But if you’re young, male and European, your mobile has probably become an everyday portable entertainment device replacing everything from your MP3 player to your video games. In 2002, when the first Nokia colour phone with Java entered the market, visionaries at Slotland.com recognized an opportunity to be key players in the birth of a totally new entertainment platform. Already leaders in online entertainment, they were uniquely positioned to bring the experience of the web to phones and PDAs. In many important demographic respects, mobile is a whole new game, requiring the company to adapt. But one thing this company knows after providing online entertainment for eight years is that players have an insatiable appetite for new games and that those games have to be unique. The company has opted to develop its own proprietary games and systems so that they can set priorities based on what they know players want.

“We are excited to be one of the pioneers of mobile gambling and strive to emerge as one of the leaders in mobile games in terms of quality and uniqueness of our games, customer service, security and banking, as opposed to sheer quantity of games and services,” said Martin Smith, Slotland.com’s Mobile Games Manager. “This has always been our goal in the web-based gaming and we are sticking to it in the mobile games arena as well.”

”We don’t want to be the 101st vendor offering the same content as the previous hundred. Our games and related services are world-wide unique, they are simply not available from other operators,” adds Smith. “What we have learned in the past is that customers value our uniqueness.”

Slotland.com is being recognized in part for the resources they have devoted to developing games for the mobile platform – a daunting task since each game has to be re-designed for every phone model – but also because Slotland.com is a different kind of company.

“Our players choose to play with us because they know we are constantly designing new and better games for them, because they know they can trust us, and because we give award-winning customer service,” said Hannah Morante of Slotland.com. “But they also know how we support amateur sports around the world, and that we’ve built a wonderful new school in an impoverished African village. We’re a different kind of company in that respect.”

WSOP = World Series of Parties!

I’m just back from a week in Vegas – the opening weekend of the biggest poker event of the year, the WSOP.

My friends at Aces.com asked me to take the stars of the poker movie they’re sponsoring to a few interviews and a bunch of parties. Tough gig or what!?

I had a great time with Christina Morris, who plays the “bad girl” and Sheena Chou, who plays a spoilt Chinese schoolgirl in ACES the Movie. Rene, the Manager of Aces.com joined us as well – somebody had to pick up the tab wherever we went!

I went down a few days ahead of the Aces crew since I had an invitation to the big Bodog party Tuesday night. I didn’t think there’d be a lot of people there since it was the closing party for their big marketing conference – and the conference had been cancelled. I must admit I was a little nervous about flying into the U.S. on a ticket paid for by an online gambling company, the week after the FBI had arrested some high profile online gambling executives. But since a friend of mine had flown to Las Vegas from London the day before with no hassles, and since he would be a much bigger catch than l’il ole me, I figured I was safe.

No one that I talked to in the gambling business had had any trouble at the airport, by the way. But everyone had black tape over any “dot com” they had on the t-shirts and baseball caps they wore to advertise their sites. And I heard that a couple of gambling site operators were arrested during the big poker expo at the Rio. So legal issues were definitely on people’s minds…

Anyway, the Bodog party was packed. It was at one of the trendiest clubs on the Strip: Tao at The Venetian. There were naked or half naked women everywhere but the coolest spectacle were the Chinese acrobats, I thought.

Before my girls arrived from L.A., I went to a PokerShare.com press conference at The Palms. Did you hear? They entered a trained chimpanzee in the WSOP! They made the rounds of Good Morning America and whatnot but the WSOP would have no part of it. Last I saw of Mikey, he was partying at the Bluff Magazine party I went to at the Hard Rock my last night in Vegas.

I’d scored an invitation to Howard and Suzie Lederer’s private WSOP party for Thursday night. I also wanted to take Christina and Sheena to the Pocket5s.com party at the New York New York Hotel. Both events started at six and the girls’ plane landed at 5:50. I asked them to be dressed to party when they got on the plane but, well, chicks… go figger…

We arrived at the Pocket5s.com party a half hour after it was supposed to have ended. Cool group. Pocket5s is a huge online community of poker players – they all knew each other by their screen names – they’d never met in person but knew each other pretty well. There were a few geeks in the crowd I guess, but mostly a pretty cool bunch of guys. (All guys... the only women there were with me!)

Then we bolted out to the suburbs of Las Vegas to a small Greek restaurant where Howard Lederer and a whole bunch of other poker legends were in the midst of a fiercely competitive karaoke contest. We gorged on an amazing Greek buffet while Phil Gordon belted out “If I can make it there I’ll make it anywhere…” I was chatting with Lisa Mueller (almost as hot as the two hotties I’d arrived with!) when Gordon started peeling off his clothes. Clearly he’d stop at nothing to take this prize! When he started wiggling his bare butt at the judges, Christina couldn’t resist. She ran up on stage and stuffed a ten-dollar bill down Gordon’s underwear.

I assume he won. We actually took off back to the Strip – but not until Christina and Rene threw back a few whiskey shooters. Fortified, we were off to the Venetian where Sheena wanted to play some cards and Rene and Christina wanted to party.

Sheena broke even at Blackjack that night. Rene and Christina met Tara Reid from American Pie. I was asleep in my room before they were up the elevator I’m sure.

Christina made it through a 10 a.m. telephone interview with a magazine writer in the UK – but she spent the next four hours puking, paying for the previous night’s partying. Let’s just say she was a little late for her next interview… Rene was totally unsympathetic of course – we had places to go, people to see! Autographs, interviews, cameras flashing – we eventually retired to the WSOP Kitchen, a sweltering tent in the parking lot behind the convention center where, inside, thousands of wannabe Moneymakers were competing in the main event, the World Series of Poker.

After Christina’s millionth mad dash to the ladies’ room, Rene finally relented and we took the girls back to the Mirage for a quiet night in their room.

Next night we all went to Bluff Rocks at the Hard Rock Hotel. My friend Michael Caselli had organized the event and he asked me to help. I ended up at the front door all night. My job was to spot celebrities, usher them into the club and in front of the row of cameras and reporters, and then escort them up to the VIP lounge. Most of the celebrities were easy to spot – they were NBA stars that towered above the rest of us. Highlights for me were meeting poker legend Doyle Brunson, having a beer with the PokerShare monkey, and congratulating Lance Bass on his recent People Magazine headlines.

Las Vegas is surreal at the best of times, but WSOP is waaaaaay over the top even for Vegas. The energy level around the Rio, where the Championship Tournament and the Poker Life Expo were happening, was sky high. It was both exhilarating and exhausting.

Sheena and Christina have a blog with their own version of the weekend and lots of pics. Have a look: acesmovie.blogspot.com.

There. I did it. I vowed I’d write about taking the stars of Aces.com’s poker movie to the WSOP without mentioning the one thing that absolutely everyone was talking about: the weather. It was HOT! In every sense of the word.

PokerShare.com Sponsors Mikey The Chimp At The WSOP

Yes, the rumors are true. PokerShare.com is sponsoring Mikey the Chimp at the 2006 World Series of Poker. Yours truly will be at the press conference at the Palms Hotel where Mikey and his trainers will tell us about Mikey’s professional poker training for the WSOP and on Chimpanzee’s cognitive abilities.

“Everyone has heard about the intelligence of primates and Mikey is one of the smartest around. PokerShare.com is confident that our purchase of a seat to the World Series of Poker will get put to good use by Mikey,” says, Lucan M. Toh, CEO of PokerShare.com.

HAIRY SITUATION FINDING A POKER-PLAYING MONKEY?
There are very few primates that have the cognitive ability of Mikey. “After a gruelling search across North America,” says Lucan Toh, CEO of PokerShare.com, “we have spent our efforts on one lucky chimp.” Mikey has been professionally trained to recognize the colors and shapes of suits and numbers. His favorite move is going “all in” but don’t tell his competition. His website, WWW.MONKEYSHARE.NET will show video footage of this chimp practicing his “all in” moves with his trainers.

BANANAS OR CHIPS?
With spectators going bananas for this animated chimp, Mikey will be playing for chips! He wants cold hard cash for his retirement, which has become a more serious problem for show business animals. After chimps perform for several years, they must retire, and like humans, live off of their earnings for the rest of their lives. Mikey’s trainers are available to comment on Mikey’s retirement plan and where he hopes to retire, should he win the 2006 WSOP.

MIKEY CHALLENGES MEDIA TO HEAD’S UP MATCH!
After his press conference at the Palms, Mikey will also challenge a journalist to a live poker match. Journalists and producers will receive a banana split and share in cold Bannarama Vodka Blended’s at the press conference.

CHIMP OR CHUMP?
Mikey the chimp will be sending all of his losing opponents BACK to next year’s World
Series of Poker (WSOP), compliments of Pokershare.com. That’s right, Pokershare.com will sponsor his losing victims to get right back up after defeat, and play again for free in the 2007 World Series of Poker!

Celebrity Guest Beats Regular at Free Hold’em Tournament

Star of ACES the Movie Wins Wednesday Free Roll at Aces.com

She said she practiced a lot for her role in ACES the Movie and has been playing a lot since then, and it was obvious as she quite tidily won the weekly Free Roll Tournament at Aces.com last week. Much to the surprise of everyone at the final table – including her -- Lacey Toups, star of the sexy new poker movie that Aces.com is sponsoring, wound up triumphant with over 50,000 in chips.

Toups battled it out at the Final Table with an Aces.com regular who frequently places second in the weekly tournament but never manages to win. It was down to the actress, “ZevTTTP1” aka “Brill”, and a skeptic that couldn’t be convinced one of his opponents was in fact the beautiful star of the poker movie. There’s a $100 bounty for anyone that can knock out the celebrity guests at the regular tournaments over the next few weeks.

“I don’t know if the guy didn’t think it was really the girl from the movie playing poker with them,” said Toups, “Or if he just couldn’t believe that a pretty girl could be beating him so badly!”

“coolnike305” ended up head-to-head with Toups and placed second in the free tournament. The manager of Aces.com made him a believer by awarding him the special prize for the evening -- an all expense paid trip to Aces.com’s DVD Release Party in Los Angeles later this summer.

“Lacey told me she wasn’t that great a player, so we honestly didn’t expect her to win.” laughed Aces.com Manager Rene Quesada. “We’re giving the prize to the second place player, so he’ll get to meet Lacey and the rest of the cast at the Party. We’ll be giving away lots more prizes like that, and lots of free DVDs too.”

“It was a really fun tourney. It felt really cool to win. It was funny because I didn't think I would win something that I was involved in for other reasons!” said Toups from her home in Florida the morning after her online victory. “I guess I really am getting better at this game! My boyfriend plays and I have learned a lot from him. Like when to fold and when you just gotta go all in!”

This Wednesday night (11:00 pm EDT), Christina Morris, the cheating trio’s leader in the movie and director Daniel Zirilli will be the special guests at Ace.com’s free Texas Hold’em Tournament. Sheena Chou, who plays the spoilt Chinese schoolgirl in the movie, says Zirilli is good, but she pummeled him one night while on location in Rio de Janeiro. She’ll host the online tournament the following week.

This weekend, Aces.com is bringing the cast to Las Vegas to enjoy a few days of the World Series of Poker.

“Apparently there’s a huge billboard with the three of us up on The Strip, right outside The Stardust” said Morris. “I can’t wait to take a picture of that!”

The cast will report on their adventures in Las Vegas July 27 – 31 in their blog, which will include audio podcasts (Episode 2) from all the parties and events the stars will be attending.

Stars of Aces.com’s Poker Movie Launch Blog & Podcast

Upcoming Episodes Will Feature Live Podcasts from WSOP

The stars of the sexy new poker movie presented by online casino Aces.com have launched a new blog and a premiere podcast episode to share their experiences shooting the film in Las Vegas and Rio de Janeiro. The cast will be in Las Vegas for the Championship weekend of the WSOP, July 27 – 30 and yours truly will be there to help them publish their blog and podcast from The Strip. (Haha... One of the benefits of being buddies with the manager of Aces.com!)

The blog – Three Girls, One Summer, No Limit – is at acesmovie.blogspot.com where there is a link to the movie trailer video and to the girls’ podcast. The free podcast is also available at iTunes.

ACES the Movie is a sexy thriller about three beautiful, smart college girls that take on the underground card room circuit in Las Vegas. They eventually get caught cheating but they’re just as smart as they are beautiful and they end up in Rio de Janeiro beating some very high rollers at their own game. The movie will be released by Warner Brothers and Polychrome Pictures in the fall; Aces.com is doing promotional events throughout the summer and will be hosting a DVD release party in September.

So far in their blog, ACES stars Lacey Toups, Christina Morris and Sheena Chou have written about learning to play Texas Hold’em for their roles, and how much they enjoyed shooting the final beach scene. Their first podcast is an interview with Sheena where she talks about searching the back woods villages of Brazil with director Daniel Zirilli looking for a poker game, and about learning to play poker as a pre-schooler from her elderly Chinese great-uncle.

“We had a lot of fun shooting ACES in Vegas. I can’t wait to go back,” said Christina Morris, whose ACES character acts as the seductive decoy that distracts high rollers while her team cheats them out of their money.

“They’ve got this crazy schedule of interviews and photo sessions and special appearances for us,” said Lacey Toups who plays the brainy ‘mark’ in the movie. “I don’t know where we’ll find time for blogging, but I promise we will! As Christina says in our movie ‘One night in Vegas – we’re asking for trouble!’ If she’s the party girl she was in Rio then we’re going to have some good stories and wild pictures for our blog, that’s for sure!”

“We’re going to be hosting the Wednesday Night Free Roll Tournaments at Aces.com,” said Sheena, the spoilt Chinese schoolgirl in the movie. “I doubt I’ll win but that’s OK. The prize each week is a trip to our DVD Release Party in LA and I already have my invitation to that anyway!”

This Wednesday night (11:00 pm EDT), Lacey Toups hosts the Free Roll at Aces.com where another winner will win a trip to the DVD Release Party. Director Daniel Zirilli will host the online poker tournament the following week and it will be Sheena’s turn the week after. The celebrity host August 2 will be Christina Morris.

Be sure to check out the cast’s blog for live reports from the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas July 27th to 30th.
