Wait for the Right Hand, Advises Juicy Stakes Freeroll Winner

Poker isn't a race.  The winner of last month’s Memorial Day Freeroll Tournament at Juicy Stakes Poker thinks the key to winning tournaments is patience. He advises tournament players to wait for the best hands to bet on, and to hang in there until less serious players to be eliminated.

“The competition in a freeroll is hard to evaluate because you have so many that do not really take it seriously,” the winner told Juicy Stakes poker manager. “At the beginning there are a lot of loose players but the further the tournament goes they all get more picky with which hands they play. In this tournament the competition was OK at the end.”

“It was almost half way through the tournament when I thought that this could actually be a good possibility to go far. Ante was 75 with blinds 400/800 and I am in late position with around 12-13K in chips. A guy in early position goes all-in with his around 7K, it is folded to me and I picked up Jacks and made the call. My Jacks hold against his pocket 5s. After that hand I am at around 21-22K and have played good poker so far."




“I was lucky to be on the winning side of the majority of my flips. No play was really anything to brag about. All hands were very straight forward.” Asked for his advice to online poker tournament players the Memorial Day tournament winner said “Keep your patience and wait for the hands that you feel comfortable playing.”

The winner said his goal is just to become a better player and then go on to play bigger tournaments. His recent freeroll tournament win at Juicy Stakes was a very good start.

Juicy Stakes recently introduced a new Fast Fold Poker game that deals a new hand as soon as a player folds. They’re at a new table with a new hand almost immediately meaning more hands, more games, more action. Two two-week rake races began today. Players in two categories will win bonus cash this Christmas: $1000 Grand Prix ($ 0.02/0.05 Texas NL) and $4000 Grand Prix ($ 0.25/0.50 Texas NL).

Juicy Stakes has increased its weekly Sunday Guaranteed poker tournament to $17,500. $125 + $9 buys a seat in the popular Sunday event but players can also qualify through satellites.

$5000 Fast Fold Grand Prix Launches New Speed Poker Game at Juicy Stakes

It's such a drag waiting around, after you fold, for other players to complete their hands. That's why I like the new speed poker phenomenon that's sweeping the online poker world these days.
