5 Chapions Converge on the Caribbean for $250K GTD WSOPC Tournament in St Maarten

Five online satellite winners from Intertops Poker and Juicy Stakes Casino are making their way to the Caribbean to compete in the $250,000 GTD WSOPC St Maarten Main Event this week.

The poker blog, Living the Dream, will be publishing pics and videos from the casino, the resort and the beaches plus daily freeroll passwords!

The WSOPC St Maarten, now in its fourth year, is a well-run tournament produced by TK Poker.  It attracts all kinds of players – professionals, semi-professionals, and recreational – from all over the world. In addition to the main event, there will be lots of cash games to keep the players busy. Not to mention 27 beaches…

"The resort is between the casino and that beach where everyone goes to get blown around by KLM 747s," laughed Intertops' poker manager. "That may be how most people know St Maarten, but poker players know it as a great place to play poker!"

Lukas, Daniel, Phil, Chris and Chris will converge on the Caribbean from Germany, Hungary and America. They may come from different places, but now they share the same goal. Each champion took down an online satellite at Intertops or Juicy Stakes and won a $4500 prize package that includes the $1700 Main Event buy-in and luxury accommodation at the Sonesta Maho resort.

Chris Perkins won his way to St Maarten at Intertops a couple of years ago. Since that first taste of international competition, he's quit his day job and has been travelling and playing poker.

"I'm super excited to go back to the island," said Chris. "I hope everything looks close to normal after the hurricane."

"I played a $2 rebuy to win a seat into the $110 satellite where I won this trip!"  said Phil who also won his way to Punta Cana at Juicy Stakes Casino three years ago.  "I'm a recreational player.  I work for an architect firm in Pittsburgh, but I play tournaments at the casino near me every now and then.  Really looking forward to going back to St Maarten!"

Lukas has won a seat in St Maarten before and also won an Intertops satellite for the WPT National in Venice. Last fall he won his way into the €500,000 Malta Poker Festival.

"I'm bring my girlfriend with me so she can relax at the beach and pool while I'm in the casino, hopefully getting my first Hendon Mob listing!"  he said.  "It's a win-win situation – if I bust out early, I can have some fun in the sun with my girlfriend!”

$24K Soft Series Poker Tournaments Give Everyone a Shot at Winning

With lots of free rolls and low buy-in events, the new SOFT Series tournaments at Intertops Poker's give everyone a chance to win some cash -- maybe even a trip to the Caribbean! The SOFT Series consists of 20 poker tournaments designed especially for recreational and casual players, awarding a total of $24,850 in prize money. The Series starts Monday with two free rolls.

"We run a lot of higher stakes tournaments for our more hard-core players," said Intertops' poker manager. "But since our network is generally pretty soft, we created this series to give less competitive players a shot at winning."

The series is starting off with two $500 free rolls on Monday and ends in the Champions Tournament on November 25th where you have a chance to win a $4100 prize package for the WSOPC in sunny St Maarten.

Most buy-ins are just $5 or $10. Most games are NL Hold'em but there are a few Pot Limit Omaha events as well. There are six more aggressive six-handed Six Max events and three fast-paced Turbo matches.

The big attraction will certainly be Event 20 – the Champions Tournament (Sunday November 25th at 6:30 pm ET). Each SOFT Series event winner will be awarded a ticket to that event which will send the winner to the Caribbean for the WSOPC at the end of March.
