American Punters Look for Reliable U.S. Sportsbooks for NFL Bets

Long-established Intertops has pre-season and regular season NFL odds online now

The first online sportsbook to post NFL lines this season is the most reliable choice for American bettors looking for a safe book to take their football wagers. Although sports bettors typically have accounts at several sportsbooks, legislative developments that have forced many operators out of the U.S. over the last year have prompted many bettors to consolidate into one or two accounts with the most trustworthy books remaining in the American market. Intertops.com – the first company to ever take an online sports bet in 1996 – has earned players’ trust over the last eleven years and is one of the few online sportsbooks that has remained open to bettors in the U.S.

“I like to gamble on sports,” said one sportsbetting forum post. “I don’t like to gamble on whether or not I’m going to be able to collect my winnings!”

Intertops hasn’t had problems accepting payments or paying out winnings like the books that have left the American market did. They’ve stuck by their American customers.

"So many big books have closed their doors to Americans,” said Intertops bookmaker Andy Donahue. “We’ve had a lot of action on NFL bets ever since we posted our early lines in June.”

Lines for pre-season NFL games are posted at Intertops Sportsbook on Thursdays. Current regular season odds are also posted here: http://www.intertops.com/sportsbook/cgi-win-2/itwww.exe?app=itbet.exe?sprtyp=AF;scrncd=BI;compno=1018;lan=e;hide=true

From this Friday until Sunday August 19th, Intertops is giving a 20% reload deposit bonus (maximum $250) on all deposit methods. Most market competitors will not be giving away offers like this until the first weekend in September – when, of course, Intertops.com will also be back with another great deposit special. But with 20 days to go until the September 6th NFL kick off, Intertops.com is kick-starting the season with this "20% for 20 days to go" special for its customers.

The long-established gambling site offers a wide variety of NFL props including Spread Winner, Over/Under Totals and Straight Up bet on the outcome of the game. The popular casino, poker and sportsbetting site also takes First Half and Second Half Side, Spread Winner and Totals wagers.

This will be the 88th season of America’s National Football League (NFL). Last year’s Super Bowl champions, Indianapolis Colts, kick off the regular season September 6th when they meet the New Orleans Saints at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.

Doyle Brunson Is Coming to London!

Poker legend “Texas Dolly” crosses the pond to launch his new-look poker site

Legendary Vegas poker pro Doyle Brunson will be in London in September to introduce the UK and Europe to his online poker room, DoylesRoom.com.

His visit will also coincide with the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe, the first event of its kind, which is taking place in London and kicks off on September 6th.

Brunson, nicknamed ‘Texas Dolly’, is one of the biggest names in the poker world. His list of achievements is endless: he was the first player to earn $1 million in tournaments and has picked up an amazing 10 WSOP bracelets throughout a glittering career.

Doyle Brunson wrote his name into the poker history books when he won consecutive WSOP Main Event bracelets in 1976 and 1977 and remains one of only four men to do so. Given his track record it is little wonder BLUFF magazine last year named him the ‘Most Influential Force in the World of Poker’.

He has taught millions how to play the game with his book Super System, published in 1978, and an updated version, Super System 2, released in 2004. His latest book, My 50 Most Memorable Hands, reveals 50 of the greatest poker hands he’s ever played.

Doyle’s move into online was a natural progression and has proved a great success. The DoylesRoom.com website offers tournaments, great cash games, and sit ‘n’ gos as well as advice from Mike Caro, founder of the first permanent poker school. The site boasts the highest and lowest limit tables on the web and attracts celebrity players including his son Todd Brunson.

“I've watched poker evolve for over 50 years now and I continue to play in some of the biggest games in the world," said Brunson. "If you want to go heads up against me, look out for my screen name TEX_DOLLY.”

There’s no better time to log on to DoylesRoom.com as the site is offering a number of exclusive weekly Summer Freerolls. The tournaments culminate in a $25,000 “Finale Freeroll” where the winner will get not only their share of the prize pool but the opportunity to play heads-up against Brunson for an additional $25,000 prize.

Gambling Commission Report Shows Online Gambling Alive and Very Well in UK

The UK's Gambling Commission has just published new statistics showing that the number of Brits that gamble on their computer or their mobile phone continues to increase.

Hmmm... Why would that be I wonder? Because it's so much fun maybe? Or because Britain is the best market for online gambling companies these days so there's so many great online casinos and poker rooms and sportsbetting sites to choose from?!

Last year, 7.4% of those surveyed had participated in some form of online gambling. This year it's up to 8.6% Course, leave out those who's only form of gambling is national lotteries and it's 5.9%, up from 5.2%.

Mobile gambling is gaining popularity in Britain even faster. About a million and a half people had placed a bet using their mobile phone in the month preceding the survey. As mobile phones get better and better, and the cost of using the internet on your phone goes down, next year's numbers will no doubt skyrocket. (Hey, if you're into mobile gambling, take the Online & Mobile Slots Players Survey.)

Weekly WPT Turks & Caicos Satellites Continue Through the Summer

PlayersOnly.com Awarding $12K World Poker Tour Prize Packs

The World Poker Tour is making its first stop in the beautiful Turks and Caicos this fall and PlayersOnly.com Poker is giving players a chance to enjoy surf, sand, sun and a shot at fame and fortune at this televised WPT event. World Poker Tour Turks and Caicos Poker Classic prize packages that include travel, accommodation and a seat at the Main Event will be awarded to Super Satellite tournament winners and to leaderboard champs.

Players can qualify for a seat in a Super Satellite for as little as $2. PlayersOnly.com is also rewarding its loyalty program participants by offering two free seats to players topping their Gold Card Poker Tour Leaderboard .

“There’s a million dollars guaranteed to the winner, and the final table is going to be televised,” said PlayersOnly.com Manager David Anderson. “So WPT Turks and Caicos should attract some high profile competition!”

The Players' Club Turks and Caicos Poker Classic is a World Poker Tour tournament being held at the Club Med resort. The tropical islands just south of the Bahamas are where Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria and basketball star Tony Parker spent their honeymoon in July after their 7/7/07 wedding. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner got married there and Julia Roberts, Jerry Seinfeld, Barbra Streisand, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake all love the secluded paradise.

"It's important to continue delivering fresh and exciting experiences for our players and fans on both the tournament and television level," said Steve Lipscomb of the WPT. "By adding WPT stops in beautiful locations around the world season six is our best year yet."

There are two ways for PlayersOnly.com players to qualify to win the prize packages: by winning the weekly Super Satellite or by playing their way to the top 100 on the Gold Card Poker Tour Leaderboard.

Weekly Super Satellite’s began July 8th and continue until September 9th at 5:00 pm each Sunday. Direct buy-in for these events is $200 but players can also qualify for them at Sit & Go and multi-table cash satellites in the week leading up.

Regular PO players collect Gold Cards in real money ring games. Each Gold Card is worth points on the Gold Card Poker Tour Leaderboard. The top players on that list will qualify for the playoff matches.

PlayersOnly.com’s $12,000 Prize Pack includes registration in the WPT Turks & Caicos Main Event ($7700), seven nights at Club Med (Turquoise) and $1800 cash paid directly to the winner’s real money account for airfare.

The PlayersOnly.com Poker Room is part of the Cake Poker network, one of the fastest growing poker networks open to American poker players. The poker room is part of PlayersOnly.com’s graphically-rich, ultra realistic casino environment hosted by model and gambling columnist Carrie Stroup.

In addition to this Sunday tournament series, PlayersOnly.com is also presenting a weekly Saturday free roll series: the grand prize winner of the Fox Baseball World Series Free Roll Tournaments will win an all expense paid trip to the World Series this fall. Free roll qualifiers are held every Saturday at 3:30 pm EST – just as Fox Television broadcasts Saturday afternoon games.

Humans Win First Man-vs-Machine Poker Tournament

I was reading an email from my boss in London telling me to get down to the Artificial Intelligence Conference in Vancouver just as the first ever Man vs Computer Poker Challenge headlining the event was being featured on the morning TV news. A bunch of computer geeks from the University of Alberta was in town for the Association for the Advancement of Artifical Intelligence annual conference with a computer program they said could beat any poker pro. Two well-known professional poker players, Phil “The Unabomber” Laak and “Prince” Ali Esmali were playing against a computer program called Polaris. This I had to see!

I knew I’d stepped into some sort of parallel universe the minute I walked through the doors of the Hyatt Hotel where the conference was in progress. There was a laptop charging in every available electrical outlet in the hotel lobby, and all manner of geeks jostled for the best positions for wi-fi reception.

My trek to the Man vs Machine Poker Tournament took me past several large meeting rooms filled with studious looking computer programmers absorbed in presentation screens cluttered with formulas and charts and long words about logic and probability…

When I arrived at the Tournament site, poker pro Phil Laak was about halfway through five hundred hands of poker against Polaris and their chip stacks were about even.

The tournament format was designed to reduce the luck element and increase the chances that the match will be won based on skill -- cards dealt in the first match to the human are dealt to the computer in the second match, and vice versa. During the two-day tournament, Laak and Esmali took turns playing against the computer in the public room where a nice little crowd gathered to see if the humans could outwit the computer, while the other played the computer in another room.

Two years ago at the 2005 WSOP Laak took on and defeated an earlier version of the Polaris software called Poki-X. This time out, the program has more human abilities – it can now bluffs and it can read an opponent’s style of play and adjust accordingly.

After a Draw in the first of the four sessions, Polaris won the second round. The humans fired back in the third session taking the teams into the final match tied. Laak and Eslami won the final session by $570 to become the first Champions of the first ever Man vs Machine Poker Challenge.

Listening to Laak’s banter with the computer, one thing I noticed is that, as in any poker game, it still seems to be a matter of observing your opponent and predicting their next action based on their previous actions. Laak would say things like “Well, he always folds on even semi-shitty hands, so I know he’s gonna fold…” and “What should I do? It’s impossible to know what he’s gonna do here…”
The first official poker competition between humans and computers, organised by the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), was held in Vancouver, Canada July 22-26. AAAI is is a nonprofit scientific society devoted to advancing the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines.

Polaris Team Leader Dr. Jonathan Schaeffer believes this week’s event is an evolution of the 1997 match between IBM's "Deep Blue" chess program and Garry Kasparov, the world chess champion at the time.

"The difference is that chess is a game of perfect knowledge, meaning there is nothing hidden from the players. In poker you can't see your opponent's hand and you don't know what cards will be dealt. This makes poker a much harder challenge for computer scientists from an artificial intelligence perspective," Schaeffer said.

My boss bet me a pint that the humans would win. Time to pay up. :(

Online Slots Player Proves Even $2 Bets Can Be Exciting

Slotland Winner Calls $615 Win a Jackpot

A regular at Slotland.com has proven that even a $2 bet can get your heart pounding and a $600 win can feel like a jackpot. Player “CHAROO“ says that her $2 might as well have been a million and that winning her $17 balance up to $615 made for one her most exciting nights of online slots ever!

“I can’t exactly retire on $600,“ laughed the winner, “But that night sure was the best run of good luck I’ve ever had. I’m still shaking my head!“

After playing the $150 she budgeted each month for playing online slots down to just $17, CHAROO was ready to pack it in. She’s glad she didn’t though because that night luck was on her side.

“I sat down with my last seventeen bucks and went right to my favourite online slot machine, Treasure Box,” wrote the winner. “I was betting $2 and on my first pull I hit the Double Win symbols. On my second pull, I hit three different colored ones for $30. After I hit some other $5 and $10 pots, I held one green seven and then had two more given to me for $125 -- all within 20 minutes!”

“I continued to play and again hit three green sevens for another $125. I left there with about $300 and switched to the Striking Sevens slot machine and after only ten minutes I hit a Straight Flush for $65 -- not once but twice! Leaving there, I went to the Jacks or Better video poker game and kept my winning streak going. I was hitting Full Houses and Flushes like there was no tomorrow! I kept my bets below the max because I felt luckier that way. After about an hour, I hit four tens for $125 and 20 minutes later I hit four twos for another $125.

“I managed to keep my little bank roll playing for hours and before I went to bed I closed the night out with two Wild Royal Flushes on the Santa’s Sleigh machine. I hit big with small bets and look forward to turning this $600 into $60,000!”

Slotland.com, where victories like Charoo’s are celebrated every day and major jackpot wins happen every few weeks, features 13 unique games and is the most popular slot machine and video poker web site in the world. Slotland.com/mobile, which is compatible with virtually every phone model including Blackberry and the new iPhone, brings the five best games to mobile phones and PDAs.

Slotland Launches Online Slot Machine Player Survey

One Player to Win $500 in Optional Free Contest

The world’s most popular slot machine web site has just launched an Online Slot Machine Player Survey to find out what’s on the minds of online slots players. One lucky survey respondent will win $500 in an optional draw at the end of the questionnaire. Between newsletters, blogs and attentive customer service, Slotland.com is in closer touch with their players than most. They’re about to get even closer.

“We know some things about what kinds of slot machines and video poker games players like best,“ said John Lancelet of Slotland.com. “We can see which ones get played the most. But we wanted to find out some other things like players‘ superstitions and strategies, where and when they play, things like that.“

The most comprehensive survey of online slot machine players ever conducted, the Slotland Online Slots Player Survey is being hosted by GamblingDaily.com. Anyone that’s ever played or thought about playing slot machines online is invited to participate.

“We didn’t want to hear only from our own players,“ said Lancelet, explaining the media partnership. “We want to hear from slot machine players everywhere.“

Do more people play at work or at home? How do players know when it‘s time to switch slot machines? Do slots players play poker? Who plays mobile games? Does anyone under 80 play slots? Do most people place max bets? How are British fruit machine players different than their American counterparts? These and other questions will be answered this fall when the survey results are reported.

The results of the survey will be published in the September issue of the monthly Slotland.com Newsletter, on Slotland’s info site, Slotland.info, on the community’s blog (slotlandnews.blogspot.com) and on GamblingDaily.com.

Slotland.com, which features 13 unique games, is the most popular slot machine and video poker web site in the world. Slotland.com/mobile, which is compatible with virtually every phone model including Blackberry and the new iPhone, brings the five best games to mobile phones and PDAs.

WSOP Partiers Love New PlayersOnly.com

PlayersOnly.com Unveils New Video-Rich Site at Las Vegas Party

Poker players at the recent PlayersOnly.com WSOP party in Las Vegas loved the new video-rich site that was unveiled at the event. The casino, poker, sportsbetting and horseracing site’s dramatic new look features video lobbies and animated service staff that create the most realistic– and sexually charged – online casino environment ever.

Hundreds of players got a sneak preview at the Vegas party from the site’s gorgeous hostess, model and sportsbetting columnist Carrie Stroup. They said:

“They’ve really nailed it. This is the kinda place I like to play!”

“Carrie Stroup is hot!”

“Cool. It feels like xBox or something!”

“Carrie Stroup is hot!” (A lot of people said that…)

“Poker and slutty chicks. What’s not to love!?”

“We wanted our customers to get that same rush of confidence a guy feels when he walks into a cool casino, ready to win it all,” said Brand Manager David Anderson as he showed off the new site at the Sapphire Club. “Nothing like a foxy lady lighting your cigar and handing you a drink to put you in the mood to play.”

Video elements incorporated throughout the site put the player right there, in what feels like the classiest, trendiest casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

"It’s funny, it’s the little stuff that people seem to love… like in the Help lobby when the receptionist swats a fly… or when you go to our Cashier and you catch the teller primping herself between customers… or the waitresses in the Casino and Poker lobbies -- just snap your fingers and they’re there with cigars and drinks.”

The slick new site will be busy all summer with WPT Turks & Caicos satellites every Sunday and Fox World Series Baseball free-roll tournaments each Saturday. More than $25,000 in prizes will be awarded in cash and prizes.

Video Clips from PlayersOnly.com's WSOP Party in Las Vegas

I’m just back from las Vegas where I went to a big party sponsored by PlayersOnly.com. Here’s some video clips:

PlayersOnly.com WSOP Party with Carrie Stroup

My mission was to follow around Carrie Stroup, the beautiful cover girl from the web site and a regular columnist on Gambling911, and take photos and video clips of her enjoying the party with all the players that had been invited for the lap dancing, strip show and free booze provided by PO. Carrie’s definitely a party girl! I’ve never seen such a total mingler! Carrie had her equally gorgeous sister and another friend with her. They were quite an entourage as they made their way through the crowded Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club from lap to lap, from one flirty conversation to another, with me tagging along with my cameras. If you like half-naked women and thumpa thumpa Vegas nightclub energy, check out the video.

Slotland Games Work Great on iPhone While Most Will Not

Average Casino Software Problematic for Apple’s New iPhone

Although most other online casino games won’t work on the much-hyped new Apple iPhone, Slotland.com’s mobile games and their web games both work great on the revolutionary new device. The new iPhone, unveiled last week, is incredible in many ways but it’s critical weakness, from a mobile gambler’s point of view, is that it doesn’t support the software that most mobile and online gambling providers depend on. However, Slotland slot machines not only work two ways on the iPhone, improved graphics make it a whole new game.

Unfortunately, being from Apple, the iPhone is designed so you can only use the Apple applications provided. Users won’t be able to just download and install their choice of games. That may suck – but at least the iPhone has a fantastic web browser, so you can just play casino games at online casinos that have Flash games, right? Wrong – iPhone doesn’t support Flash or Java.

Fortunately, not all online gambling sites use technology the iPhone can’t handle. Slotland.com, one of the earliest pioneers in mobile gambling, has developed games based on html/xhtml technology rather than Java and Flash and will therefore be one of the few casinos that will work on the new iPhone.

“Like the iMac, Safari is the internet browser built into the iPhone. Officially, no third party applications will be allowed to be installed on the Apple device, so the web browser will likely be the only way to access casino games on an iPhone.” said Slotland.com’s Mobile Games Manager, John Lancelet. “Slotland has always been one of the few casinos that really worked well on WebTV browsers for the same reason they’ll be the only ones to work in customized trimmed down browsers like the one in iPhone.”

“Like a lot of people, we’ve been waiting for the iPhone for a long time,“ said Lancelet. “It has higher resolution, better quality, more graphical features… And the touch screen is going to be great for playing slots!”

Slotland.com, which features 13 unique games, is the most popular slot machine and video poker web site in the world – and it looks and works great on the iPhone web browser. Slotland.com/mobile, which is compatible with virtually every phone model including Blackberry, brings the five best games to mobile phones and PDAs and provide a simplified alternative for iPhone users.

No Rake Poker at Online Backgammon Site

To celebrate their new real-money poker room, BackgammonMasters.com is offering something unheard of in the online gambling world -- no rake poker. For a limited time, the online gaming community will forego their house commission so players can try the new poker room without paying fees.

Ever since BackgammonMasters.com launched its unique gaming platform they''ve been gaining huge popularity within the online backgammon community, largely due to the high quality standard of their graphically rich playing environment complete with realistic 3D avatars and sound.

“Let''s face it, after a few hours of nonstop backgammon it may be a refreshing break to get your eyes off the checkers and onto a deck of cards,” said the manager of BackgammonMasters.com. “Many champion backgammon players are also skilled in other board games including chess.

Until recently not many made the huge leap to table card games. This trend is changing fast. Poker has become huge and backgammon players are getting swept up in the hype.”

No-Rake Poker at New BackgammonMasters.com Poker Room

To celebrate their new real-money poker room, http://www.backgammonmasters.com/ is offering something unheard of in the online gambling world -- no rake poker. For a limited time, the online gaming community will forego their house commission so players can try the new poker room without paying fees.

Ever since BackgammonMasters.com launched its unique gaming platform they've been gaining huge popularity within the online backgammon community, largely due to the high quality standard of their graphically rich playing environment complete with realistic 3D avatars and sound.

“Let's face it, after a few hours of nonstop backgammon it may be a refreshing break to get your eyes off the checkers and onto a deck of cards,” said the manager of BackgammonMasters.com. “Many champion backgammon players are also skilled in other board games including chess. Until recently not many made the huge leap to table card games. This trend is changing fast. Poker has become huge and backgammon players are getting swept up in the hype.”

At BackgammonMasters.com, poker fans can play at up to three game tables simultaneously thereby increasing their gaming activity and overall experience. New players can also play no charge fun mode games in order to learn and practice the games without the risk of losing any money.

BackgammonMasters.com has been gaining attention recently for their large payout competitions and for their new animated series that features their own tiger brand icon named Jean-Claude.

Intertops First Sportsbook to Post NFL Lines

New England Patriots Early Favorites to Win Super Bowl XLII

Gridiron fans don't have to wait until September to back their favorite NFL teams. Intertops.com – the company that took the first online wager ever – is the first online sportsbook to post betting offers for the 2007 NFL Regular Season. Week One lines and dozens of props, including Divisional Winners and who will win Super Bowl XLII, are already online at http://www.intertops.com/.

The New England Patriots are the early favorites to win Super Bowl XLII in Arizona next February. Intertops.com odds favor the Pats to face the Chicago Bears (+1800), New Orleans Saints (+2200), Dallas Cowboys (+2500) or Philadelphia Eagles (+2500).

The Pats are the favorite, at +400, to win Super Bowl XLII with the Indianapolis Colts at +650 and the San Diego Chargers at +750. (All odds quoted are those posted at Intertops.com Sportsbook as of June 28, 2007.)

“We’ve had our eye on the Patriots during the off-season,” said Intertops.com manager Michael Weiss. “They were already strong and they’ve done more to improve the team than any other franchise. We think they’ll go all the way this season!”

The Patriots, who open their training camp at Gillette Stadium July 27th, have signed several strong players recently, including athletic Baltimore linebacker Adalius Thomas. Some question the decision to trade for former Raider bad boy Randy Moss but Pats fans have Bill Belichick to keep him in line. Tom Brady must be pleased the team has also signed free agents Donte' Stallworth (Philadelphia) and Kelley Washington (Cincinnati).

In addition to Super Bowl XLII props, Intertops.com Sportsbook has also posted odds for September NFL games, including the season opener between Indianapolis and the Patriots. The long-established gambling site offers a wide variety of NFL props including Spread Winner, Over/Under Totals and Straight Up bet on the outcome of the game. The popular casino, poker and sportsbetting site also takes First Half and Second Half Side, Spread Winner and Totals wagers. Intertop's current NFL lines.

Poker in the Park Celebrates London, Europe's #1 Poker City

World Poker Tour Sponsors Leicester Square Poker Celebration

Bluff Europe has declared “London is now the number one poker destination outside of Las Vegas!” (Bluff Europe, July 2007) Together with World Poker Tour, they're putting on Poker in the Park, a huge outdoor poker party in central London on July 6th.

Says Bluff: From the stylish casinos of Mayfair to the home games of Hackney, Londoners are flopping the nuts, missing their straights and sucking out big time.

Haven’t a clue what they're talking about?

Get to Leicester Square from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Friday July 6th for a spot of ‘Poker in the Park’ to get the low down on the poker craze that’s sweeping the city.

This is one of those times that I wish I could be in two places at once! I'll still be in Las Vegas recovering from the PlayersOnly.com WSOP party but if you're in London July 6th -- get down to Leicester Square!!!

Wanna Come to the Biggest Party at the WSOP in Las Vegas?

I've got tickets to 'PlayersOnly.com presents Bluff on the Strip'

Sometimes I blog about great igaming parties and events that I've gotten myself invited to. This time I can invite you to come along!

I'm co-hosting the biggest party at the WSOP on July 5th and I have some tickets for my blog readers. PlayersOnly.com presents Bluff on the Strip will be at the Sapphire Gentlemen's Club, the biggest strip club in Las Vegas, the night before the Championship tournament begins at the WSOP.

PlayersOnly.com will be picking up the bar tab from 10 pm to midnight, so come thirsty!

There'll be poker tables, of course, and heads up matches for lap dances. And Carrie Stroup, the cover girl all over PlayersOnly.com, will be there. If it's like the Bluff party same time last year, every poker player (pro and wannabe) will be there. There were also a lot of celebrities in town last year that showed up to party, Lance Bass for one, and half the NBA it seemed.

If you'll be in Vegas July 5th and you like boobs and poker, send me a note and beg me for tix: gamblogger@gmail.com.

Heavy Bidding & Heated Competition Anticipated in Final Weekend of PlayersOnly.com’s $150K WSOP Giveaways

Satellite tournaments and low bid auction end this Sunday

It’s almost time for the WSOP Main Event, which means PlayersOnly.com’s $150 WSOP Giveaways campaign is coming to a close. The last of PO’s twelve satellite tournaments will be this Sunday night, and Sunday is also the last day to place bids in their unique Low Bid Auction.

Bidding has been steady in the unique low bid auction of a WSOP Player Package and is expected to be heavy in the final weekend. While they obviously can’t be specific, the site says the winner is quite certainly going to get a very sweet deal.

"Of course I can’t divulge which bid amounts still don’t have unique bids on them yet, or which bids already have multiple bids," said PlayersOnly.com Manager, David Anderson. "All I can say is this $12,000 prize package could easily go for peanuts!"

Bids can be placed until midnight Sunday either online at www.playersonly.com/bidWSOP or by cell phone text. (Full phone bid instructions also at www.playersonly.com/bidWSOP.) Any registered player can place bids and players can place as many bids as they want. Registration is free, however PlayersOnly.com accepts registrations from U.S. residents only. There is a charge of US$1.99 per bid – but the first bid is free.

Meanwhile, at WSOP satellite tournaments every Sunday since April, the cutting-edge casino and poker site has also been awarding $12K prize packages to weekly tournament winners. While many players that win WSOP prize packages online this year will pocket the cash rather than risk it at the WSOP, the winner of PlayersOnly.com’s very first WSOP satellite tournament remains adamant that he’ll be at the Big One.

"Oh, I’m definitely going to Vegas!" said the excited winner in my podcast interview that can be heard here: www.lyceummedia.com/playersonly/PlayersOnly-WSOPSatelliteWinner1.mp3. "I’ve got my plane ticket and my room at the Rio – deal me in!"

The final WSOP satellite tournament will be held this Sunday. Players can buy-in for a hundred dollars or win a qualifying free roll tournament held twice a day. Complete tournament details can be found at www.playersonly.com/poker/wsop.php.

The $12,000 World Series Prize Packages awarded to tournament winners and the low bid auction winner include airfare, accommodation and enough cash to register in the ultimate poker tournament, the World Series of Poker Main Event, which will be held in Las Vegas July 6 – 17 at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

London Declared Europe's #1 Poker City

Poker in the Park will celebrate with play-for-fun tournaments in Leicester Square Park July 6th

Just yesterday, Bluff Europe Magazine declared London “Europe’s #1 Poker City”. Today they announced that they're partnering with World Poker Tour to present “Poker in the Park” in the heart of London. The event will be held in Leicester Square Park on Friday, July 6th, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. There'll be ‘Learn to Play’ and ‘Play-for-Fun’ tournaments for poker enthusiasts and players of all skills and backgrounds.

The event, presented by Bluff Europe and sponsored by the World Poker Tour, is open to all visitors over 18 years of age. Visitors who choose to play might find themselves across the table from actress Mimi Rogers, who is also a WPT Board member and poker enthusiast. WPT president, founder and CEO, Steve Lipscomb, will also attend the event. In addition, World Poker Tour poker gift packages will be given to the first 1,000 visitors.

“We are pleased to be a part of this celebration as London is named the #1 poker capital in Europe,” said Lipscomb. “World Poker Tour was at the forefront of the global television poker phenomenon, which helped bring the poker boom to London. We are honoured to have played a part in this great city’s rich history.”

To mark the magazine’s naming of London as Europe’s No.1 poker destination, a plaque will be awarded to the Mayor of London, congratulating the city for its services to the poker community.

“Poker in the Park is an opportunity for people who have an interest in the game to come out and play for free in a fun, friendly environment, and to find out what all the excitement is about,” said Michael Caselli, editor-in-chief of Bluff Europe. “People are really beginning to see that poker is a game of skill and intellect and that tournament poker is about mental fortitude – it really is about the sport of poker. The event is also a celebration of the London poker boom which punctuates London as one of the most exciting places to be right now.”

Asia Cup Polo Pits England Against India

The fight for the trophy will be between India and England as these two proud nations take on each other in a classic encounter. Cricket?! No -- POLO! I'm talking about Asia Cup Polo at Kirtlington Park on June 30th. The clash will be one of the highlights of this year’s British polo calendar, played out in front of thousands of spectators at the Oxfordshire venue.

Sponsor MaharajahClub.com is a gaming site for South East Asian communities in the UK and abroad. In March, MaharajahClub.com sponsored the Asian Poker Classic, held in Goa, India. They'll have poker and casino tables set up at Kirtlington Park so fans can play a variety of casino games while they enjoy the days events.

Asia Cup Polo is part of “Celebrasian”, a festival celebrating all aspects of Asian culture. Running from June to July, “Celebrasian” brings together Asians and non-Asians through events as diverse as business, food, fashion and sport.

The setting for the Asia Cup couldn’t be better. Kirtlington Park Polo Club founded in 1926, is one of the UK’s most prestigious venues and has been a breeding ground for some of the nation’s top polo professionals.

“The sport of polo has a long tradition in India and England", said Sachin Pawa of MaharajahClub.com. “So both sides will be determined to prove their supremacy -- it's going to be a great day!”

Playboy Mansion Tournament Qualifier at PlayersOnly.com Sunday Night

Players Can Qualify for the Final Tournament Through Direct Buy-in and Free Roll Tournaments, and both Sit and Go & Multi-Table Cash Satellites

My favourite U.S.-facing online poker room PlayersOnly.com is sending five tournament winners to compete in the All Star Night at the Playboy Mansion celebrity fundraising tournament in Los Angeles June 21st. The top 5 finishers of PO’s Playboy Mansion Party Final this Sunday, June 17th will each receive a pair of VIP tickets to the event.

Hosted by Rodney Peete and attended by over two hundred athletes, celebrities and Playmates, All Star Night At The Playboy Mansion is one of the biggest and most anticipated events of the year. This year’s invitation-only event – at one of the hottest party venues on the planet -- will feature a runway fashion show spotlighting the season’s latest and hottest swimsuit and lingerie designers and a surprise guest musical performance.

Players can get to the Playboy Mansion Party Final by winning a qualifying free roll this Saturday, June 16th at 6 pm ET or by winning one of many daily cash satellites between now and then. Players that want to avoid the crowds at the free roll tables can enter a cash satellite Sit and Go with fewer players. S&G satellite buy-ins range from $2 to $10. There will also be $5 Multi-table tournament satellites running everyday at 12:30 a.m. until the 16th. The complete tournament schedule and structure is posted in the PlayersOnly.com Tournament Lobby.

PlayersOnly.com has donated $2000 to be given to a charity named by the winner of a celebrity poker event held prior to the Party. Proceeds from All Star Night At the Mansion will benefit the Hollyrod Foundation for Help and Hope which is dedicated to providing medical, physical and emotional support to those suffering with debilitating life circumstances especially Parkinson’s Disease.

In addition to the special Playboy Mansion Tournament, PlayersOnly.com’s weekly WSOP satellites will send twelve winners to the WSOP. Their unique low bid auction, where a $12,000 prize package could go for less than a buck, will send another winner to Las Vegas next month. The satellite tournaments and low bid auction conclude June 24th.

Mobile Entertainment Conference Concludes Greedy Phone Companies are the Biggest Barrier to Mobile Gambling

Italy Seen as the Most Progressive Market for Mobile Entertainment and Mobile Gambling

While analysts continue to predict great things for mobile entertainment, delegates at the recent Mobile Entertainment Market (MeM) conference in Monte Carlo were talking as much about barriers to explosive growth as they were about new developments in mobile content. The Mobile Games Manager from Slotland.com, a leading provider of real-money mobile casino games, attended the conference and reports that the concensus in Monaco was that if phone network providers loosened the reigns it would stimulate development and make more entertainment more available to mobile users.

“There’s lots of interesting things happening, especially in progressive markets like Italy,“ said John Lancelet of Slotland.com. “But mobile network providers slow the pace by making data transfer so expensive and by pretty well excluding independent content providers from their portals.”

Data transfer costs are prohibitive and many users are confused about what it will actually cost to download a song or play a game. They are understandably reluctant to buy an MP3 for $1.50 knowing it could cost another $5.00 in data transfer fees to download it, or to play a casino game only to have their winnings gobbled up by phone charges. According to the word on the street at MeM, Italy is the place to go for the most reasonable flat fee offers and South Africa has the best price-per-megabyte fees for downloads.

Phone companies, whose mobile portals are still the only significant source of mobile traffic, have a virtual monopoly on mobile content -- mostly because customers don’t know that they can venture off the phone company’s home page. And unfortunately, since mobile network operators take a much higher percentage of the profits than internet portals, most independent entertainment providers can’t get their product to players this way. However, just because the phone company isn’t offering mobile gambling doesn’t mean players don’t have access to real-money casino games on their mobile. Mobile surfers that leave the phone company’s portal soon find popular independent operators like Slotland.com.

“Generally, mobile content market today is in a similar stage to where the internet was in the late 80s and early 90s when AOL, MSN and similar internet access providers thought that every internet visitor will access the web through their home portals, and no other pages, and every content provider would have to advertise and gain customers through their portals only,” observed Lancelet.

Meanwhile, independent companies like Slotland.com continue to make fun mobile entertainment available. The long-popular slot machine and video poker web site has 5 real-money slots on their WAP site, wap.Slotland.com. The mobile games are tied to Slotland’s famous online progressive jackpots, and players can use their Slotland.com player account on the computer or on the mobile phone.

How Long Can GingerNinja Live in a Cardbord Box on the Streets of London?!

Facebook personality posts challenging wager on GottaBet.com

GingerNinja (Adam Scott) the philanthropic spirit well-known on Facebook, has announced that he'll become homeless and live in cardboard box in London's Parliament Square for 7 days in an attempt to raise money for London homelessness charity St Mungo's. He's placed a bet on the popular UK bet-for-fun/social networking site, GottaBet.com.

GingerNinja will be living, eating, and campaigning, all within the confines of parliament square and sleeping out in the open with only the shirt on his back and a cardboard box to protect him from the elements.

The bet on GottaBet is for how long GingerNinja will survive on the streets of London. I personally put my one peanut bet (just betting for fun on GottaBet) on "1 - 2 days". It's not that I don't think he can do it. It's just that I can't see the authorities allowing him to hang around long.

If you would like to donate cash to the cause please visit the St Mungos donation page: http://www.mungos.org/donate_now.html

If you'd like to bet some peanuts:

Pocket5s Member Becomes Youngest WSOP Bracelet Winner

Steve “MrSmokey1” Billirakis made World Series of Poker history on Sunday in the $5k Mixed Hold ‘Em event, becoming the youngest bracelet winner of all-time. At the time of his victory (worth $536k), he was 21 years and 10 days old!

MrSmokey1 has been a name the Pocket5s poker community have known for years, and his wins have been numerous. Just two weeks before his big win, he took down the PokerStars $200 rebuy for $57k, which was just one of many big online wins he’s had over the years.

While this was Steve’s first WSOP event, he’s already had a taste of live success, including 3rd place finishes in the Paradise Conquest $5k event and the $2,500 British Columbia Poker Championships.

Gardener Rakes in Over $1 Million on PartyCasino.com Jackpot

18 Cent Stake Nets US$1,092,957

A 39-year-old self-employed landscape gardener from a council estate in Sunderland , UK is celebrating after raking in a PartyCasino.com jackpot of US$1,092,957 off a stake of just 18 cents, a record for the online casino.

OnlineCasinoNews.com reports today that Brian Somers, who normally earns around $15,000 a year, won the PartyMega Jackpot on the Super Fortune Wheel game on the online casino last week.

"All of a sudden the screen started flashing," said Brian in an interview with OnlineCasinoNews.com. "I was asked to choose six smiley faces. Four revealed golden dollars and the ticker at the top of the screen started to race and all these numbers came up. It said I had won over a million dollars. I thought it was a mistake. I turned the computer off and even unplugged it. I then logged back on saw $1,092,957.68 on the screen and got on the phone and they said 'your balance is over $1 million dollars sir.''

Brian said that he intends to use the money to secure the future of his six-year-old son Corey with his windfall. 'I'm hoping to use the money to make myself and my family secure for the rest of their lives. I want to buy a house, go on holiday and get a new car. I also want to expand my gardening business.'

Brian said that his previous biggest win was £40 on the UK National Lottery and that he might also use his winning to purchase a Sunderland FC season ticket.

"We've seen some big winners in our time but for someone to win so much from just 18 cents is truly remarkable and is a record win,” said a PartyCasino.com spokesman. “Brian is a great guy and deserves it and we wish him and his family all the very best for the future."

UK's Best Poker Players Head to Vegas for WSOP

The best poker players in the UK are heading to Las Vegas this month to battle for gold bracelets at the World Series of Poker. The June issue of Bluff Europe Magazine, which hits UK newstands this week, features reports from the Scandinavian Poker Championships, the Grosvenor Poker Tour Manchester and a special feature from Hollywood star Jennifer Tilly at the Irish Open, not to mention all the news, views, gossip and strategy tips from some of the best poker players in the world.

This issue of Bluff Europe has an added bonus -- a DVD of ‘Learn from the Pros’, courtesy of Full Tilt, will be given away free in each issue.

“Until now Bluff Europe Magazine has been distributed in the UK through casinos, cardrooms and via subscriptions,” said Editor Philip Conneller. “But poker's become so popular, and with the WSOP around the corner, we're finding a more mainstream readership.”

U.S. Government to Allow NETeller To Return US Payments

Online payment specialist NETeller has announced that it has agreed a plan with the US Government to distribute millions of dollars belonging to American customers that were frozen after the company and its founders were charged with racketeering and other charges related to online gambling in February.

OnlineCasinoNews.com reports that the UK-based company said a plan that the United States Attorney’s Office has agreed to would allow US customers to access their NETeller accounts online for a certain time and make a request for their funds.

The company said that, in accordance with its terms of use, no interest on account balances will be paid but that it would also not charge fees for processing these requests. Funds will be distributed either by electronic transfer to the bank account on record with NETeller or by a cheque to be sent to a mailing address as confirmed by the customer. If an American customer has a bank account already registered with NETeller, funds will be transferred electronically subject to a confirmation by the customer that the registered bank account remains valid.

NETeller also stated that US customers would receive the entire balance of funds in their account with no requests for partial payments processed and that they would not be able to use their accounts for any transaction other than to request their funds.

“The agreement on the distribution plan represents a milestone in our cooperation with US authorities,” said Ron Martin, President and CEO of NETeller.

“While we are disappointed not to have been able to return funds to our US customers at this point, we believe that the steps we have made in our discussions are significant and we hope to be able to announce further progress with the United States Attorney’s Office by July 13, 2007.”

$12K WSOP Prize Will Go for Under Ten Bucks -- Wanna Bet?!

OK, this confirms it: I'll gamble on practically anything, anywhere, anyhow...

If you read my blog then you know about the auction that's going on at PlayersOnly.com. It's a "low bid" auction which means the prize goes to the person with the lowest unique bid. They're auctioning a $12,000 WSOP package -- the $10,000 World Series of Poker registration fee plus travel expenses to Vegas -- and if only one person bids exactly fifty cents then that person could get the whole thing for under a buck!

I personally think it might go for under ten bucks. Think that'd be just too good to be true? Think I'm crazy? Wanna bet?!

I placed a friendly bet at Gottabet.com. It's for "peanuts" (the currency at the P2P betting site). And just for fun. ;)

Check it out -- there's some really whacky stuff that you can bet on!
