Canucks Goalie, Luongo, Taking Shots for Endorsing Poker Site

The star goalie for the NHL's Vancouver Canucks is also an avid poker player. Last month he started appearing in television commercials for PlayNow.com, an online poker site operated by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. Punta Cana Poker Classic Makes Marked Improvements

Event organizers for the Punta Cana Poker Classic announced today the implementation of improvements to this year’s event based upon feedback from their inaugural tournament in 2010 . The improvements will include adding a professional dealing staff with World Series of Poker experience, and opening up the cash game room to run 24 hours a day.

The Punta Cana Poker Classic is an annual land based Texas Hold’em poker tournament held at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The event will have a $500,000 Guaranteed Prize Pool and be preceded by a $100,000 Guaranteed High Roller Backgammon Tournament.
